Here's an interesting question about "Satan" and "God". Recently, I have been studying some material that suggests that "Satan" in the Hebrew is never defined as a rebellious angel, that only comes in Revelation (Greek) later. In the OT, Satan and YHWH are the same being in certain circumstances. "Satan" means strictly "adversary" and is really in no way a proper name.
1Ch 21:1
And Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.2Sa 24:1 And again the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them, saying, Go, number Israel and Judah.
This is of course, describing the exact same event. Another example that the soc often ignores is found in 1 Kings 22:
1Ki 22:19
And Micaiah said, Therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.1Ki 22:20
And Jehovah said, Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner; and another said on that manner.1Ki 22:21
And there came forth a spirit, and stood before Jehovah, and said, I will entice him.1Ki 22:22
And Jehovah said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also: go forth, and do so.1Ki 22:23
Now therefore, behold, Jehovah hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets; and Jehovah hath spoken evil concerning thee.
