    Tula,

"What a world, what a world...."

I suppose we could work up a talk using the Living Water to drown the wicked witch of Babbel-on. And instead of the songbook, let's use the Optimistic Voices singing "You're out of the woods, you're into the light...". Nope, I'm going to stop now, I'm scaring myself.

And Truthsearcher, I am more certain every day. No baptism for me, I'm moving straight to apostate.

I don't remember the Wizard of Oz being banned in our area. We allowed our children to watch it, and I always tried to follow the rules.

I don't recall Wizard of Oz being banned, but I know Alice in Wonderland was banned in our areas. I went on a "shepherding call" with another elder to a family that had apparently permitted their children to see it several times. The children spilled the beans by talking about it in field service.

Later the family left the org because of too many personal family restrictions.

There is little doubt in my mind as to who the wicked witch in the story should represent, those that constantly play mind tricks and manipulate emotions: the FDS.

Sorry , but I see nothing unusual here.....

So he has the time to read the news on line? That may be the biggest revelation, but nobody has ever suggested that news services are bad or should be avoided, on line or anywhere else....

The political interpretation of "The Wizard of Oz" was new to me and I learn from Wikipedia that it is hotly contested whether it had any overtones or not. I agree that he was quite liberal to use any film as a basis for an illustration, most of them play the "safety first" rule, just in case anybody is offended. But it is hardly earth shattering.

People never see anything wrong in the stuff they enjoy, or enjoyed as kids - only in what other people enjoy in these "Wicked last days"

BTW some people find overtones in Noddy and Big Ears !

And then came the final talk, based on ............ The Wizard of Oz. Did he go into any detail about who the man behind the curtain represents?

Reading the news on the 'net is EXTREMELY efficient, especially Mon-Fri, and highly recommend it.

    It's cheaper, too. *smile*
