A google name seach showed that they have talked about this Holocaust JW theme before. I know I have the right home- the right name was on the phone message greeting. I printed out the letter and it is going into the mail tomorrow- and maybe something extra. I don't know what is so hard about talking to JW's- didn't the KH train us to preach, despite adversity? And I know the KH is populated with mostly wusses/wimps, as most of the strong-willed thinkers have left.

Why doesn't the holocaust memorial people even look into this? It is so disgusting.

I grew up thinking that the Holocaust was all about what Hitler did to the JW's. I had NO idea how many innocent Jews died. My Jewish great grandfather came to America from the Berlin ghetto in Germany before Hitler came to power. If he hadn't, my mother never would have been born, or my children or their children.

The only thing I wear on my neck is the Star of David, for many reasons.

Kate, yes you are Jewish by birth, welcome! I married into a Jewish family and converted in 2001.

I have the letter copied and it will go into the mail tomorrow to the Zienteks. Now , I wonder , if someone could send a copy of that letter to the venue that is hosting them to speak about the JW's in concentration camps?

I'll work on that tomorrow. Did you send the Hitler letters? I'll see if I can find a photocopy of the originals in German with the English translation. This would not take much time to do.

My family converted to Christianity. There is litttle family history as it seems g.grampa came over young and we know nothing about the rest of his family left in Germany. I haven't begun to research g.grandma yet but my mom thinks she was also German Jew converted to Christianity. They did not talk about it because of racism. They did not allow German to be spoken in the house either.

I hope more people will sign the petition. I will enclose that with the Hitler letters. Maybe we should start a thread just for the petition and keep it active. Surly we can get more than 35.

I would no way condone the leadership being praised or glorified in their so called stand and I think what the Watchtower leadership did was cowardly and inexcusable but I believe that the rank and file JW who died should be remembered as much as anybody else. However they should be rememebered as individuals as opposed to being lumped together with their leadership if that makes sense.

My ancestry is Jewish too and I have been researching them for some years.

There is any amount of information at www.jewishgen.org, with a Special Interest Group (SIG) for each country, such as for Germany (Gersig).

When you join (no cost necessary) you can post questions and these people will be only too happy to oblige. They are a wonderful lot of helpful people.

All of their posts are moderated before being made public, which is important given the strength of anti-Semitism.

They have large databases, including the names of people who were murdered by the Nazis.

The names of JWs who were murdered at Auschwitz is also available (ask the Auschwitz museum for the details of the book).

That was my petition while I was advocating with the US National Holocaust Museum to add wt documents to their library. They did! Those documents are among their most often requested items from their library, so everyone who requests them will have the opportunity to see the wt's own documents supporting Hitler. They will also see Penton's book.

My stance too has always been that the individual jws were victims of both the Nazis and the wts who supported them.

I think any presentation or display about this topic should mention how the wts played a role in the victimization of their own members. The purpose of these things is to expose historical events so society learns from past mistakes. This is important info.

The following is an email I sent and the response I received.

To Whom It May Concern:

Are you not aware of the history of the Jehovah's Witness Organization, the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, and their anti-Semitism?
Yes, while a couple of hundred of their faithful followers died in the camps, their President Joseph Rutherford was trying to cozy up to Hitler. In a well documented letter he slams Jews and the United States. Of course the Watchtower Society does not want the public to know of this. They'd rather jump on the public relations bandwagon and present themselves as martyrs.
Please do not allow them the opportunity to use the Holocaust tragedy as a way to twist historical facts for their own purpose.
Please remove them from this important exhibit. Thank you.
