Yes mom, I got your email. My first thought was how absolutely sad that not one witness family in all of Vietnam stepped forward to take this little boy into their home. Where was the congregation in all this? Why weren't they taking care of their widows and orphans?

    LOL!!

I also wondered why the boy just didn't pray to see his mom and dad again?

Excuse me, I had to throw up, but I'm feeling much better now.

My question is: According to JW beliefs, the dead Vietnamese JW parents will be resurrected in the new world, but the child and his adoptive parents will (supposedly) survive Armageddon, which will happen real soon now.

Who will get the child? Solomon only had to deal with two mothers and a baby. Who's going to deal with the demands of four parents?

JWs love these fairy tales told at conventions, but they never think beyond the obvious to future repercussions.

Pass the barf bag please! Remember a number of years ago, that pregnant "sister" who was brutally murdered in the states and her unborn baby cut out of her belly? I guess she must have had some secret sin right, cause good ole Jehovah wasn't looking out for her or her unborn child! These kind of stories literally are public relations bullshit.

It is highly unlikely that a child fresh from Vietnam would be able to speak enough English to explain anything about mom and dad.

When I was younger I learned something about experiences given on the platform: 9.99999999999999 times out of 10 the person relating it is not the one who supposedly experienced it. An older sister I know gave an experience about her insurance salesman son-in-law who she witnessed to and he ended up marrying her daughter. Later in service I questioned her about it and she said "oh that didn't really happen to me. It happened to someone else I was just relating the experience because the same one is given at all conventions, so they just need someone to give the testimonial. I acted like it was me for illustrative purposes." I've been thinking about that since a few years ago they starting having the "beware of false stories" talks at every convention. It boggles my mind that those actors that go on stage are absolutely ok with LYING to thousands of people. Of course the Watchtower doctrine can rationalize all sorts of things.

These kinds of icky-sticky sentimentally self-serving stories proliferate in so many Christian churches and religions. sadly, the JWs are far from unique: Mormons have their own variations, as do Seventh-Day Adventists, and let's not get started on the myriad Pentecostal groups that regurgitate this kind of Reader's Digest crap!

In my view, having one's mother send this kind of drivel is grounds enough for disowning her. I would consider any mother who sends this kind of crap to deserve being disowned (On the other hand, fathers can get away with it because they probably don't know any better ). Seriously, if your mother knocks, keep very quiet and don't answer. Just hope she's so busy passing this kind of crap on that she soon forgets you exist.

I did that, too. I related an experience at a circuit assembly that was taken from the Watchtower. However, the speaker was honest enough to preface that I was just relating an experience.
