Several issues that should concern the wt:

    1) Brain Drain - the smartest and the best are long gone or are going.

    2) No date certain for the GT - No one can argue that 1975 and the "generation" did not energize the troops. Now there is nothing.

    3) Internet - JWD, enough said

    4) Bad publicity - pedophile issues are now public knowledge

    5) Increasing cult mentality - instead of acknowledging the changes the society is increasingly increasing the hold on the remaining members.

    6) Stupid ideology - There are a lot of things that just does not make sense. The internet exposes these items very well.

    7) The r&f are tired - Too many false alarms.

    8) The general economic reality - Jobs and education are now critical to living. Can't do that and still be a close member of the wt.

I think from the Governing Body's point of view, it's pretty good. They can sell off assets and cut

back indefinitely while brainless Witnesses believe every excuse they offer. They are likely to

have growth for years to come in countries in which near anarchy prevails ( Africa). They can ignore

factual difficulties because obsequious Witnesses won't rebel or even question falsehoods that would

be obvious to normal people. The saddest aspect of the organization is the pathetic way that

Witnesses act like children of a distant, abusive parent. No matter how poorly they are treated,

they make excuses and hunger for scraps of "love" or any sign that they are cared for. This is

why the leadership can get away with such meager care of the flock.

This was a more eloquent way to say what I was trying to say in my infamous 'witnesses are pussies' post. Thank you for these observations. I think they are right on.

I agree with some of the posters who say they have nothing to new to offer. All of the hopes they hung their hat on are fading, the 1914 prophecies, and with the progression of the internet and sites like this one, the witnesses can't control what their members read or do in their spare time, like they used to. The information highway is wide open now, which is a good thing , and it will help inform any witnesses sitting on the fence in their decision to leave the cult or not. I think in countries where people are more informed the standstill in recruiting more members will continue as information of more scandals in the witnesses proliferates

Uneducated persons are most likely to become Jehovah's Witnesses.

I would say they are at the crossroads. One either change; which they have done in the past to save their skin, or try to hold on tighter to the crap doctrene hoping it won't slip thru their fingers like crap does.
