lord no. People are often shocked to find out I was a JW. They say I seem too "normal" to have been one

Years ago, I remember these 2 guys talking about how JWs were bothering them on Saturday mornings. They really disparaged the Witnesses. Finally, I told them that I was a Witness and they were shocked!!!

I told them that if they really didn't want to be bothered, all they had to do was tell them to put you on a Do Not Do list and the visits would end. They profusely thanked me and I went my way realizing that I did my good deed for the day.

I actually drink less alcohol now than when I was an elder - (less stress) - so perhaps they could tell !!!!!

Actually, it was when I was a JW that people were surprised. I was so open minded and I really listened to people without judging them. Bad witness bad!

Min, Hahaha! I told a lot of people about that list when I was a JW. I never really tried to convert anyone.

Most of the photos shown in this site of you folks makes me believe you wouldn't get confused with looking like a JW.

I adjusted to normal life long ago so nothing JW shows long since. I celebrate Christmas and birthdays, meddle in politics, occasionally attend religious services in churches, wear a crucifix and sporadically have girlfriends.

people were surprised i was a JW.they thought i was too normal....

for all you guys that got that a lot did the people in the cong ever tell you "when worldly people think you're like them then you have to consider if you act like a christian in your everyday life"

they always told me it was something wrong that i was doing i.e. accepting people for who they were and listening without judging???
i lived my life thinking if i want people to be tolerant towards me as a jw then i must show the same tolerance.

one thing i still can't get rid of of the JWs:

i can't wear a skirt above the knee!! i still can't do it! how odd! the only time i wore a skirt was when a boyfriend bought me one and i only wore it with him and kept tugging at it....it was only a few centimeters above the knee. nothing major.

can i just say MINIMUS i think you put out some of the best posts on this forum.
