Do "Apostates/ex-jws" picket their "new" churches if they disagree?

Some were "reached" by the cult at especially vulnerable moments in their lives.

Others were simply taken in by the lies.

The above examples apply to me. I was reached by the WTS while I was still in my teens. My childhood was filled with turbulence and uncertainty. When I attended my first meeting, I was lovebombed and made to feel I was special.

Later on when I became disillusioned and began questioning, I was cast aside like a dirty rag. I do not attend any church now because I've had enough of organized religion. However, were I to begin attending a church and found myself disagreeing with it, I would walk away. Simple as that.

I learned something about you this morning, Sylvia.

I thought you attended a church.

    I respect your faith.

It seems that when a JW's becomes disgruntle and leaves the WT society they accept anything the churches tell them.

That's a very sweeping generalisation, booker, apart from being completely
incorrect. Personally, I've only been to a church once, apart from a couple
of weddings and 3 funerals, since I left the watchtower. That was earlier
this year, when an ex jw friend was baptised at the church she joined after
    da'ing from the jws.

As ex jws, most of us are well aware that we have escaped one cult already,
and aren't stupid enough to swallow anyone else's bs. As for being enraged
at the watchtower, I don't like being lied to, and I don't know anyone who does,
so at least some anger at how the watchtower treats it's victims is understandable
IMHO. If people want to express their anger by jw bashing, as you often refer
to many of the anti-watchtower posts on here, that's their prerogative. It's not
for you or any of the other semi jw apologists that post here to judge them
    for it.

So true that the JWs suffer persecution because they also persecute though they do not admit this and try to make it appear as if they are totally innocent victims.

They are a cult but because they are not outright extreme as eg the scientologists and the moonies they deceive many people.

Nate, dear one, we're all learning about each other here on JWD. The one thing we have in common is the impact the WTS had on our lives. I don't think there is anyone who can truthfully say that impact left them unscathed. JWD is a place for shared experiences, grieving, and healing.

May we all refrain from judging, categorizing, and casting stones at each other. Instead, let us welcome, embrace, and reaffirm each other's worth. Thank you for your show of support.

Yours in the journey of discovery and reaffirmation.

    Sylvia
