I love to read. For many years had a book a day reading habit - not all serious stuff of course. And of course that was pre-internet. Now it takes me a lot longer to finish a book, and I have a pile of books by the bed. My idea of a good time is a good book, peace and quiet, and iced tea.
I love amazon.com because I can order what I want, read it, and then sell it on amazon.com which helps to keep the cost of reading down.
any book recommendations?
While they are a children's series and the first two are too Disneyish for my taste, I must admit the Harry Potter books have captured my fancy lately.
I think that I've read about 7 or 8 books all summer (if you count a "graphic novel"). I only read at night, though. I am amazed that you've read that much in a few months. Wish my brain worked so well as to read that much. Of course, I work during the day (as little as I can get by with, though! Reading is much more interesting than my job).

Oh, I worked this summer. Worked nights for the first half 32 hours per week, then days during the last half 40 hours per week. Now that I'm in law school, I only work weekends, or 16 hours per week.
Reading list beginning in June.
I stuck with light reading this summer--recently got out of undergrad school so not worrying about retaining what I've read was nice for a change.
Yeah, reading stories is much more entertaining; it is easy to go through a novel or two a week if that's all you're reading.
I have spent the whole summer, off and on, trying to get through The Ancestor's Tale, which is really interesting, but much more time-consuming than the fluff.
Science requires every ounce of my attention span to follow along, especially with the math stuff, most of which goes over my head.
I am almost through with it. I might have finished it sooner if I could have resisted the urge to entertain myself with a couple of novels in between.
Or, is that an average amount?

The odd thing is, I'm not really well read. I didn't start reading much until I got into college. I used to consider it a waste of time.
