I've seen a few "post your IQ" or other test topics on the forums here. If people are even close to truthful with their score I would guess the average IQ would be ~125, quite possibly higher. This is far, far above the average (90-110).

The on-line IQ tests are notoriously inaccurate and I would suspect that most who post on this Board would score as average, or slightly below average on the conventional professional IQ tests.

I think we do have a poster here who is offiicially a member of MENSA, and we have hundreds here who have granted themselves this hallowed membership by online tests.

I saw something a while back that JW's in Australia had a higher percentage of gifted children that the average population. I didn't become a JW until age 13, but my daughter was raised as one and was in the gifted children's program in school. You had to be in the top 2 percent to get into the program. Not sure if that was influenced at all by early meetings and bible study or if that's just the way she would have been. Possibly it stimulated her mind somewhat. She could name all the bible characters (including Nebuchanezzar) at 18 month. She never got baptized, so I guess she was smart in figuring out that it was all BS too! Much smarter than me anyway.

I think it helped make me a little smarter, but there is a catch. If you are already smart and like to study and involve yourself with a view to improve onself, you can become smarter in many ways.

If you are not so smart, and make use of the material and provisions and have the goal of just getting the job done. You will look and be not so smart....ok stupid.

    the truth hurts.....oompa
