They always have to be burdened with so many rules and the fear that they may cause someone to get stumbled there is always someone that might get stumbled so that others would have to curtail their freedoms. This is another mind control trick it is surely worrying that a fellow JW might be stumbled. The bottom line is: yes you can go but it's better if you don't.

It must be so frikkin' annoying for the WTS when they get these idiotic Questions from Readers.
It reminds me of Ned Flanders on The Simpsons, calling Reverend Lovejoy in the middle of the night over some idiotic burning question he has that nobody gives a flying flip about.
To my way of understanding, the Bible encourages mature Christians to use their own best judgement. It's the WEAK who are bound up with idiotic rules and nitpicking. (Rom 14)

Most of my step mothers family are non-JW's. One of her brothers was very opposed to going to the KH for their fathers funeral - it caused alot of debates within the family. The JW realatives were so upset that he was refusing to come to the KH for the funeral, but they could refuse to go to a church for the same (wedding or funeral).
When an uncle died, his funeral was held at his church (Pentecostal) and I went, along with my JW step mom and sister. I got "talked to" for singing the hymns.

My sister in law was not going to go to ours until she had to get married before me for sleeping with her 17 y/o boyfriend. I was tempted to tell her not to show up but in the end i needed to be the bigger person. I know I've told this story before but it still chaps my hyde.

Didn't the apostle Paul and other first century followers of Christ go to synagogues even after they because "full-fledged" Christians?

One elder had me heated when he told me I was wrong in going to my brother-in-laws funeral about 4 months ago since it was in a church.
These QFRs are so idiotic to me now. Has the WTS ever gotten the idea that it's best to leave decisions on these and other matters up to the individual? As was already stated here, the WTS seeks to micromanage the R&F's minds to the point that they can't decide on ANYTHING without consulted the Watchtower magazines or other literature.

She tactfully but clearly explains to her husband what her conscience will permit her to do and what she cannot do."
In what strange parrallel universe does this couple exist wherein hubby does not tactfully but clearly proceed to choke the living shite out of wifey?

Hmm nice that they use a sister with a non- Jw spouse.
Depending on the eldership......most women are counseled to follow the lead of the marriage headship, but to refrain from enjoy in their hearts.
AHHH once again.....1Cor 7:23 Y OU were bought with a price; stop becoming slaves of men.
