When they announced the ban on smoking over 30 years ago that was held up as proof the end was just around the corner- had to purify the Org from all the unclean nicotine drug addicted tobacco users so the org could enter into the new order with a white robe- what a load of hooey! The end is near, yea, right. I called up an old JW friend last month and left a message on his answereing machime just to let him know I was right about the 1914 generation after all. He gave up colllege in 1970 so he and his new wife could be fulltime pioneers- what a deal, trading college for a carpet cleaning business.

No, I have never experienced more hatred than at the KH. I have a few health problems that make meetings an unpleasant experience. My wife attends so I play the role.
They even said I could be an elder in a year or sooo.
Wow, what a privilledge (sp)
My son goes to increase his speaking ability. He does not want me top be an elder so he can play Basketball or any of the other sports.

Living in the "End-Times" has been preached for 1,973 years. Every era since 34 has had it's doomsday groups. There are many "signs" listed, but last I checked the majority of those in the Middle East, China , India etc etc have never experienced the spreading of Christ as described. There is no cry or espousing of "peace".........
If the buzz on the "annointed generation" is a fact, that will be the first "light" to ever be plausibly true.
However we clearly got some time still left in this system.......
Make sure you son gets a college education.....
Hope he has a great time playing on the schools teams, memories like that are golden........

They don't even care whether you actually believe in their precious heirarchy, that they are the "only" channel of "truth"????? The criteria used for getting you in seem to be quite different from those of getting you thrown out.
No matter what the religion, the "end is near" argument is completely irrelevant. You believe in it, or you don't. Period. You are seeking a relationship with God and believe participation in religious services and the Christian (or Jewish or Muslim, or whatever) life ill enhance it, or you don't.
They are just trying to scare you just like preachers of old scared us with fear of hell fire.
So glad they didn't scare you or intimidate you,

One mentioned that there have been more adjustments in the last 4 years, than in the preceding 40 he has been in the org.
That should definately raise some red flags! If this is really God's chosen organization, why all the changes?????
