WT Finances shaky?

With the dollar devaluing, the real estate market in the USA tanking and the biggest growth in JWs coming from the lower income areas, I'll bet they are in financial HURT. Bigger hurt than the protestants down the street, or the bottomless coffers of the Roman Catholics.

As the R and F ages, they realize that they must take any measures they can to provide for their "golden years" and are probably reducing donations. And as the children leave the fold, they will be less likely to support mom and dad giving their estate to the FDS. Not to mention that those taking menial jobs so they can do the preaching work aren't earning much.

I suspect that the retrenching of the Awake and WT are just the beginning of cost cutting measures. Of course these measures will be taken because of New Light, or the cost of keeping the lights on.

Anyone know how we can proove (or disprove) the money issue? That would be news for the newspapers to take an interest in.

I would guess the opposite, their long running propaganda was "we are badly in financial despair" can you contribute to the society ? ,

was all bullshit to the extreme ! Prior to them selling off some of their property holdings in Brooklyn which grossed over 300 million they had over 900 million in assets

so to date they have never been richer.

In almost any religion, there is a critical difference between assets and cash flow.

The Watchtower Society is very rich in assets, however it is their cash flow ( donations) that is the

problem. Witnesses are closing their wallets and the growth in the 3rd world is a financial drain.

This is absolutely correct. There are two things taking place. On one side they are cutting back on the operations. Less mags and literature, layoffs, and etc. On the other side the wealth continues to grow. Through investments and real estate. While the general market is south, their holdings in Brooklyn Heights continue to grow. The real estate bubble did not hit NYC.

In NYC, the WTS can turn those empty buildings into apartments and sell them for millions of dollars each. New York real estate has never been better. However, they will have to pay taxes on the profits they make.

I hope Danny Haszard can cause the biggest earthquake in their financial history. Exposing the scam for what it is can help those who would have bought their property to think twice about this transaction, making them have to sell out at a loss. The Zero Dollar Bills and Void Checks can cut into donations. Either way, the Watchtower Society stands to take a bath.
