Does a person's true personality come out when they're drunk?

Not the same for everybody - when I am drunk I just want to curl up and have a snooze. I know some who get violent and abusive when drunk

Interestingly for some it all depends on the type of booze being consumed.

For me, scotch or beer just mellows me out. Wine gets me drunk quickly and causes massive hangovers at a fraction of the amount of alcohol consumed versus beer or spirits.

I have had to restrain a couple of buds who do not mix well with Rye (Whiskey). It seems to bring the 'Ultimate Fighter' wannabe out of them. Most of their wives now forbid them from drinking the stuff. Smart ladies!

Now for me tequila is my curse. It is one of the few alcohols that actually makes me a stupid drunk. You know the get up on the table and do a strip routine type drunk. Uzzah now wisely avoids tequila!!! However, one birthday 'my friends' started bring me shots of tequila.... Some time later the National Anthem was played at the beginning of some sporting event (don't remember), I vaguely recall dropping my pants, waving my ass. I was wearing boxers with a Canadian Flag on the butt (across the front it says "I stand on guard for thee"). I was telling everyone at the Pub to salute the flag! Not one of my more stellar moments.

Every one has their own poison I suppose.

It doesn't matter if it's the true personality or just the drunk personality - damage is damage and drunks cause a lot of damage. I differentiate between being pleasantly lit up by a couple of drinks and being drunk and out of control. There are a lot of folks who can have a few drinks now and then and get a pleasant buzz and it makes them more sociable and they enjoy the evening more. That's different from drinking until the person is out of control, can't stop drinking, and doing damage to themselves or others by the things they say and do.

I suppose if people get tired of laughing at a certain Bee curled up under the table, entertainment on the table could be arranged.... umm I mean cards or poker... yeah yeah that's what I meant?!?!?

Yes I believe it does. If a person acts like an ass when they are drinking then they have dropped their facade and the real person is exposed. When I drink, I am happy, and basically I am a very happy person all the time.

Naturally I realize the asses will deny that it revels their true side. LOL

I don't know. What does Mel Gibson have to say on the matter?

What a pessimistic view of people!
