Wendy,
If you don't fill out the "annual accreditation form", your representative doesn't get in the UN. And for security reasons alone the form need to be filled in. Period Period Period.
The DPI was point blank to me saying that the accreditation form needs to be completed or the NGO loses their "association".
Of course it only took 20 phone calls, a few weeks and a number of different people at DPI before a member of the reference library, Holly, let it slip that these NGOs had to fill this form out. Nice of NGO/DPI staff not to help me .....

Kent, Randy, Steven Bates, & everyone who worked on this,
I am so grateful that you have relentlessly pursued these documents. They have been very important to me and my wife personally as we are still making the mental exodus out of the org.
What a pack of lies we were told! Just wanted to let you all know I appreciate what you are doing.
Randy, thanks a lot for the book, Releasing the Bonds - I really like what I'm reading so far. As you said, I can see that this will speed up our recovery time. Thanks again pal!

I've just remembered something.
When I was DF'd in '72 for associating with an already DF'd person, I forgot to mention to the JC that I was only being friendly with him so that I could use his library card.
I presume my re-instatement will now occur automatically in view of the new light re why the WTBTS were in cahoots with the UN?

Watchtower Rides the “Beast”
By Gary Brown Jr.
October 14th, 2001
Recently an article by the Guardian titled “Jehovah’s Witness link to UN Queried” exposed the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York as being associated with the United Nations (UN) Department of Public Information (DPI) registered as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO). Further investigation reveals that not only is this true, but that they have been registered with the DPI since 1992 and began their application for association in 1991. What is even more revealing is the fact that within a few days of this discovery being made public the WTBTS of NY requested termination of its association with DPI. On October 9th, 2001 the DPI made a decision to disassociate them.

The criteria is quite interesting; in particular, an NGO must support and respect the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, and an NGO must have the commitment and the means to conduct effective information programs with its constituents and to a broader audience about UN activities by publishing newsletters, bulletins and pamphlets…
This is antithetical to the Watchtowers view of the United Nations:
“ With the war of the great day of God the Almighty impending,
why trust in a refuge, such as the U.N., that cannot prove trustworthy?
Mankind’s only hope for permanent peace is God’s kingdom.”
Awake! 2/8/67 pg. 4
“ What a disgusting thing in God’s sight that religio-political
alliance responsible for killing his Son. A similar disgusting
conspiracy was to be a feature of Jesus’ second presence. It is
here now. Today that religio-political world alliance against
God’s kingdom finds its most powerful expression in the
clergy-blessed United Nations. What a disgusting thing this
clergy-supported alliance that stands before the attention
of the people where God’s kingdom should stand!”
Watchtower, 1961 pg. 630
And even more damaging is the Watchtower issue of 5/1/99’s article titled, “Let the Reader Use Discernment”:
“ In a prophecy with implications for us today, Jesus outlined
a composite sign that included wars, food shortage, earthquakes,
pestilences, and persecution of Christians preaching about God’s
kingdom. (Matthew 24:4-14; Luke 21:10-19) Jesus also offered
a clue that would help his disciples to know that the end was
close-a ‘disgusting thing that causes desolation standing in a holy
place.’ (Matthew 24:15) Let us reexamine those meaningful words
to see how they can affect our lives now and in the future.
Demonstrating the confidence of Jehovah’s servants that this
prophecy would be fulfilled, The Watchtower of January 1, 1921,
focused on it in connection with developments in the Middle
East. Subsequently, in its December 15, 1929 issue, on page 374,
The Watchtower definitively said: “The whole tendency of the
League of Nations is to turn the people away from God and from
Christ, and it is therefore a desolating thing, the product of
satan, and an abomination in the sight of God.” So in 1919 “the
disgusting thing” appeared. In time, the League gave way to the
United Nations. Jehovah’s Witnesses have long exposed these
human peace organizations as disgusting in God’s sight.
….this beast is supported by world rulers. Details supplied
in the prophecy help us to identify this symbolic beast as a peace
organization that came into existence in 1919 as the League of
Nations (a “disgusting thing”) and that is now the United Nations.”

Hi Imogenne,
Welcome to the board... Thanks for the quotes you found from the WTBTS literature..
Here is one I like.. It's a full page advertisement that the WT placed in the New York Times on July 5, 1998 addressed to the "President of France" trying to persuade him not to tax the WTBTS claiming that it's because of religious freedom...
Notice the paragraph that begins "Human rights violated"...
Contrast that to your quote from the WT:
"Subsequently, in its December 15, 1929 issue, on page 374,
The Watchtower definitively said: “The whole tendency of the
League of Nations is to turn the people away from God and from
Christ, and it is therefore a desolating thing, the product of
satan, and an abomination in the sight of God.” So in 1919 “the
disgusting thing” appeared. In time, the League gave way to the
United Nations. Jehovah’s Witnesses have long exposed these
human peace organizations as disgusting in God’s sight.
….this beast is supported by world rulers. "
I guess you can turn people away from god and towards the Human Peace organization as long as it suites your material needs (saving about $60Million dollars in Tax money)...
Who would have thunk that God's organization was sooo materialistic?
Oh, and another interesting side note.. The JW's certainly do not accept any of the other "Chrisitan" religions as real Christian.. But, man, when it suits their needs, they certainly have no problem lumping themselves in with the rest of "Christendom"...
Again, thanks for the quotes, and welcome to the board!!!

Trying to make those links clickable for you all. Hope this works!
guess it didn't work--sorry!
Check them out anyway; just highlight and copy!
Hi Imogene
You need these to be "clickable". You need to put the http:// in front of them and of course any other character such as "(" or "." immediately infront of the "http://"
So you put ...
www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,565005,00.html
www.guardian.co.uk/religion/Story/0,2763,574175,00.html
www.un.org/partners/civil_society/ngo/ngos-dpi.htm#top
www.thetruthhurts.freeservers.com/unitednations.htm
Now I edited them with "( http://......";
and watch ....
( http://www.guardian.co.uk/religion/Story/0,2763,574175,00.html
( http://www.un.org/partners/civil_society/ngo/ngos-dpi.htm#top
( http://www.thetruthhurts.freeservers.com/unitednations.htm
Oh, one other thingy. The Guardian articles always never work because they have a "comma" character in them but you can still copy and paste in your browser to make it work.
Good to meet you Imogene and take care.

Thanks mommy for your replied it's nice to from people you are looking into the same thing I am. Thanks everyone can please keep up the work on the search for the answer about this UN and WT ordeal. I've done some on my own, I've even found other witness that heard about it and they were bother some even wrote to elders stating what they heard, some got the reply that said "well you aren't a witness either" or some don't even get a reply back from elders. Well, I'm going to be calling the WTBTS in a bit to talk to one of the elders there and see how they treat me,and for their sake they better be nice because with this and some other stuff in the NWT that I've seen wrong the changes that I've seen and also had pointed out to me I'm not a very happy camper.
THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!!!!!!!!!!!
