I remember that movie. I forgot what movie it was (title). Isn't that the one where they all wear white clothes in the future? It was a creepy movie. I never imagine paradise being that way, *thankGod* but I think if this world continues as it does i.e. w.o. God's intervention, I can imagine the earth being that way. The song, "In the Year 2525" by Zager & Evans, is my impression of a Godless future. NO THANKS!

We are living in a Godless world now Linda, I mean no offense by that, but really, where is he/she? Why does evil continue? I prefer to look to future generations to improve this world, instead of hoping for a miracle that God will intervene, great if he/she does, but until that time, I'll look to humanity to improve itself. In the last 30 years, there are more advances than in the previous two hundred. Human rights organizations have been formed, we have become a global village and while horrible things still happen daily, humanity is progressing towards a better future, without God's help. Just MO. We women have more freedom and liberty than ever before in history. While it's a far cry from perfect, at no other time in human history, has the voice of the downtrodden been more loudly heard.

When I was about 6 years old, I asked my parents if there would still be meetings and service in the new system. They said yes. I haven't looked forward to the new system since.

I never thought about it because deep down I never really believed in it. What's more as I realised later Biblically there is no such destination for the Christian believer because they are all bound for heaven. The earthly class is a purely JW cultic creation.

The JWs where I was believed that there would be seasons as there are now, there just wouldn't be great temperature extremes.

As a child, I would look at all those pictures of a paradise Earth, and think silently to myself:

After a day or two, I am going to really get tired of playing with lions, tigers and bears. What the heck will there be to do?

I didn't worry about it too much though, because I KNEW that Jehovah would kill me at Armageddon. And I was depressed because it would come too soon and I would never get old enough to get laid. This from a kid that never did anything wrong until later in life.

A lovely childhood, there has to be a Hallmark card in there somewhere.

I guess I should clarify myself, I was referring to the movie and song, both depict a future in a Godless world also, but in another mode/atmosphere

I remember being in a converstion with a sister when I was younger, like.... 12 and I said something to the likes of,

"I can't wait to the new system- 'cause then you can fal off of cliffs and crash in airplanes and not die- it'll be like a roller coaster- WHOOSH and all, LOLz" and I was just playing and she got all serious and said,

"...what kinds of movies are you watching...???" LOL

Actually I was watching power ranger and ninja turtle movies thinking it was the best thing ever! Violences, action and talking animals- like ALL kids should watch goddamit. She made it seem all serious and boring, teling me that I could play with animals all day.

I mean, if you've been to a zoo you know its awesome but after 5 or 6 hours they all stink and your hungry and wanna do something else. I mean if the Dinosaurs would be there that'd be cool but in JWland hey don't really exist. Dammit.

I also never liked the clothes they showed the people wearing in the new system- like I wondered if every black man had to wear a dashiki (sp?) in the new system.. and if every woman had to wear those big ugly flower dresses. As i've said since they gays are gone, the fashion in the new system is really tacky.

I used to wonder about literature, as in novels, short stories, etc.

And what about other forms of art?

This used to bother me, because I was told that since we'd be perfect, we could choose what art form we wanted to be good at, and everyone would be a great artist in his/her own preferred field. Not only that, but since 'famous people' currently are the object of idol worship (*sigh*), no one would ever become famous or well known for their art or other 'gifts' at all. We'd all sit in our houses with the friends from next door (not too many houses over) and play our guitar and sing and paint, but that'd be it. No culture like we're used to today.

I also didn't like the idea that we'd have people here on earth that would take 'orders' from above, and dispense it to the rest of us, telling us where to live, what to do etc. Same ol' same ol'. Meetings all the time even though it's after Armageddon etc.
