glad to have you here...tell us more how you got the immediate family out. I myself have had so-called "privleges", but not as far up the ladder as you...different direction..

as for "rules"... there are the official guidelines...and then there is reality. Like any group of humans, there are different intrepretations of the rules. Some mods are a bit more sensitive than others and will be quick to restrict a poster for a time, or remove a thread, or edit a post...others give more leeway.... Just be yourself and dont say something you wouldnt say in polite company and you should be fine. Hey, ultimately its their board, we are guests here.

Ultimately, Simon runs and owns the board...there are 5 or 6 mods that I can think of.... Simon has final say on any differences... the mods are watching for outrageous violations, not nitpicky (well, not usually) ...what you can get by with in the "Adults Heated Debate" section is more than in the other sections. Context matters. Something posted in the Child Abuse section, or esp about personal experiences, is given a heck of a lot of latitude, rightly so....there is a lot of anger on those who went through the Watchtower Society (aka The Borg.....) nonsense, so those personal feelings seem to be allowed some kindness and understanding. As it should be..

Crudeness for crudeness sake is apparently not tolerated for long...either the thread is removed, or locked down (preventing more posts but still readable). At one time, briefly, there was a zero tolerance policy by Simon on foul language...thankfully that was lightened...it has its place (see above)

Because of some nonsense posted last week, Lady Lee (one of the mods), posted this very helpful thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/22/143604/1.ashx Not all agree with the decisions or their consistency, but hey, we are guests...and I appreciate being invited to stay.

Any questions, use the PM (forum private messaging) to send a message to one of the mods/forum assistants... Scully, jgnat, ozziepost, lady lee.... a couple others.. whatever you do...dont get into a pissing contest on a thread with a mod...it will get you restricted/deleted.... some have found out the hard way.

I too was an elder, PO, etc. etc. but my child grown now and spouse is still in i'm working on them to get them out my child knows there is alot of BS but we did such a good job of indoctrinating base on the borg's (nickname for org) instructions it's going to take some time.

Glad to see that the exodus is coming from all areas and groups. It looks like the waters are drying up on their side.

Please tell us....what was the straw that broke the camel's back? What happened that finally made you realize that it was not God's organization?

I know this is going to be a long story.

You have not only a captive audience waiting, but one that can share and understand your hardships like no other group in this world.

Thank you very much for the different posts about the “regulations”.
I definitely espouse all the ones you have collectively indicated, and specifically the ones showing up on the “reply” screen which, by the way, I had already seen.
Also thanks about the insight on the mods and the Forum owner, whom I guess is Simon now. I know pretty well what it means in terms of keeping the atmosphere serene, constructive, and informative, because you always fall sometimes on some trolls or other individuals who would be joining just to upset everyone and fool the purpose of the forum.
Thanks in particular to SankesInTheTower. I loved his style! and also appreciated the way Lady Lee clarifies touchy issues, specially those related to sex, at the link provided Sankes, http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/22/143604/1.ashx, with which I fully agree.

I, myself, am a counselor member of the board of a Forum administration in Europe, and post in different forums and I am therefore acquainted with the type of problems mods and admin can encounter.
I therefore sympathize with you ladies and guys, doing this job.

I do post, as I said in other forums in different languages, but none in English, so far.
This is the first English forum I will participate in.
It helps keep my English alive, now that I have less opportunities to practice, since I went on early retirement.

Now, without going into many details, yet!, let me just add, to answer some people’s questions (like this type of FAQ session type):

No, none of us is DA, we have progressively faded in the last few years, until we decided to quit for good, once we come to some turning point decisions.

More on the real thing, how I finally got out and how the whole family followed me, later! When I get some time to write it up for you.
