  Thank you, Mr. Flipper for starting this thread.

  I agree with all posters, but especially with V1710's remarks. I am nearing the ripe old age of 54, but I have to confess I was shocked by some of the stuff I encountered here. We need to realize that some things that don't bother us are very offensive to others.

  That having been said, I would like to welcome all Newbies as I was welcomed on 1May2007. It's good to have you here. I'm sure it will help you on your journey out of the House of Cards.

  Hi I am a relative newbie but unfortunatly don't get as much time as i would like to read stuff and post.

  BUT I really like what I'm reading and have come to realize that there is a huge group of ex dubs that are accepting of me for who I really am, not what I am attempting to be (new personality/clone)

  To cast off the shackles is such a relief I used to spend so much time looking over my shoulder worrying that someone would report me to the "E"s now I truly have no fear of the future, what will happen will happen.

  So thank you for your welcome and sharing of yourselves online, it means so much to one who thought he was alone.

  All of my imprisonment within an organization has helped me to see now that I can and will respect and accept everyone as friends whatever their belief system, now I am FREE.

  I feel more of a kinship with you guys than I ever did while part of that org.

  So again Thanks and don't ever stop being who you really are as that is far more worth than being a Fake!

  Hey Peeps, I just wanted to say i appreciated all the comments and advice i was given on my first topic/post. It really helped to know that there are others on this planet in the same situation and that i can get encouragement and help from you all. I also hope to be able to contribute my advice and viewpoint on things to help others too.

  You probably are scared, confused, angry, hurt, and may feel in denial to an extent. Please know you are not alone! We are here for you. We have been in your shoes and know all the emotions you are feeling. Let us just tell you that even though it may not feel like it right now, there IS life outside the Watchtower!

  But be assured that Jehovah and Jesus will not abandon you! Keep praying for guidance and wisdom. He does not want you to be afraid. As he tells us so in 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

  How many times did you ask others in the ministry to examine their religion? Should not those in the organization be able to take a good look at their own? And if you are being discouraged from doing so by anyone, it should raise a red flag, as those who have truth should have nothing to fear, but should be only faith strengthened by it. The example of the Boreans was recorded for a reason.

  Keep checking, keep making sure of ALL things....If you have questions, you owe it to Jehovah and Jesus to get them cleared up, so you can worship with confiedence. Remember, when Jesus was on the earth, salvation was contingent upon one thing. And that was faith. HE was the "good news". If there was more needed, surely he would have let people then know.

  We welcome you with open arms! You have found a place where many still believe, but no longer believe salvation is through a organization, but rather through Jesus himself, as he set forth. If you need any help researching, please let us know what it is you are trying to find as someone will most likely have it filed away, and will be able to help get it to you. Keep praying and you will find the truth about the "truth".

  NVR- Was being bruised and confused the same thing as being Dazed and Confused, like Led Zeppelin said in their song ?

  V1710- I welcome you and your posts. I agree rude and hateful debates never accomplish anything. just spreads more hate. I agree there should not be pornography , but I feel a healthy discussion of sex is not harmful done in an appropriate manner. And I feel occultism is a personal choice of some , not my cup of tea perhaps, but I won't judge others for it.

  ROBERT 222- Welcome my friend to the board ! I have learned a lot of things too that i never knew before when I was a witness ! I learned about the child molestation lawsuit settlements by the society and the whole child abuse crisis, after I left the witnesses. So stay on board and keep posting ! Look forward to your posts !

  SNOWBIRD- Thanks for your takes and posts too. I agree we have to be careful with what we post. However there are certain discussions of things I feel that need to be addressed with issues we were not allowed to discuss openly at witness meetings. For instance, child abuse by elders and authority figures- you won't hear that discussed from the stage because they want it hidden. Also spousal abuse, as posted today by Purple Sofa- you won't hear the witnesses discuss that stuff much because of the patriarchal view of women submitting to men in the congregation. So it is extremely important for that issue to have a forum. Also, sexual discussions done in a tasteful manner that help people have a clear view of this subject, as opposed to the locked down, hush!, hush! version we got in the witness organization.

  You see, we were in a closed society which was a big part of the problem . We could not see reality because of being mind and thought controlled. So we do want to expand our horizon's and give people the option to expand theirs, with respect of course.
