Good one Nosferatu. You mean you did that when you were a JW?!?! You naughty rebel!!
Yeah, and I was ALWAYS afraid that someone would see me and tell my mother or the JW elder that I was studying with. It's horrible to be constantly in fear when you're first experiencing your hormones jumping for joy at the touch of the opposite sex.

Go to church in jeans! If a church won't allow jeans I won't go because I don't think my clothes impress Jesus and I don't worry about impressing anyone else. And if I can't feel free to invite ANYONE no matter what they look like or how they dress, then I don't want to go myself.
I can pick my own church and if the Pastor says something that disagrees with the Bible, I can either call him on it (I have done it!!!!) or leave for a different church (I have done it!) or both and I have definitely done that. Without having to worry about losing real friends.
Read apostate literature! Read the Bible without the "help" of the WT Society looking over my shoulder.
Make friends with REAL people, even though they are hard to find, I can at least LOOK for them now.

I love that I can make decisions for myself based on my own knowledge and experience instead of answering to everybody else.

When I was a witness and went to a sports game, You couldnt stand for the national anthem. So either you had to sit there like a jerk and have everyone think you are un american, or go out to get a beer and a hot dog while you leave your wife and child to do the un american thing. I dont miss that.

One thing I now take for granted is going a whole month without worrying about field circus. Being able to stay home and sleep or watch TV when the meeting is going without having to worry about it. Just being able to miss all the meetings and blow off field circus without worrying about that publisher card is freedom.
Also, many of the listed things. Setting up a Christmas tree with lights and loads of ornaments. Being able to listen to Christmas carols without worrying about them getting stuck in my head (they still do, but I don't have to worry about it now). Being able to listen to patriotic music without worrying about them, either. Being able to read any book, about philosophy and/or religion including Crisis of Conscience and making my own opinions about it instead of having the opinion of the authors forced down my throat. Being able to post on apostate Web sites and post the real truth, not the lies that they parrot. Not having to worry about what rules they are coming up with next year (like no T-shirts after the a$$embly session). Looking at the Halloween (and soon, I hope, Christmas) lights and being able to enjoy them instead of grumbling about the "waste". Being able to work without running into a situation that's "against my religion" like having my birthday posted on a bulletin board. Using words that are taboo to the Witlesses and not worrying about it.
