October 24 is United Nations Day, the anniversary of the enactment of the UN Charter on October 24, 1945. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Day

In honor of the Watchtower Society's affiliation as an NGO with the United Nations from 1991-2002, we of JWD want to say "Happy United Nations Day" to Ciro Aulicino and all those faithful slaves of the WT Society who worked so hard to make sure the Watchtower could get up and ride the "Image of the Beast". And what a ride it was! Too bad it was "brought to your attention" that it was inappropriate to do so after your affiliation was exposed in The Guardian newspaper in the U.K. Darn those apostates!

We're so sorry you cannot use the UN library any more. Your magazines are so much less compelling!

I noticed that on my calender this morning...

Happy United Nations Day WTBTS, hey who needs a library card when you have your endless supply of bountiful spiritual vomit food at the proper time?

Should we send them a card?

    Lovely parady, that.

Perhaps someone should design a greeting card for that use. We could send one to each PO.

Thanks for posting this for me, Sylvia.

Here's a clickable link to a description of the UN day, which celebrates the organization that the WTS teaches will support or incite an attack against all Jehovah's Witnesses in the near future!!

I have had this question since first hearing of their (wts) affiliation with the UN (or NGO blah blah). Other than library priviledes what else was involved?

Seems like there would've had to be more in it for them to join bunch of dictators/money grubbers, and risk having it become public.

    Emy.

I am unsure what the Watchtower gained from their UN/DPI affiliation. Perhaps they saw that other religious groups were doing it, and said "us too!". Or maybe they wanted greater leverage to help with legal access or other issues in certain countries (such as in Eastern Europe) where they were trying to open up the preaching work.
