Bouncing 1914/1915 from book to book! Posting this for a friend who is busy studying for a test! *************************************************************** Just found this...the 1915 edition of "Time is at Hand" at Google Books. Pg 99 has the 1914 date moved to 1915: http://books.google.com/books?id=baI3AAAAMAAJ&pg=PA99 The 1916 edition moved that back to 1914. Looks like they'll have a 1914 edition of "Thy Kingdom Come" ready soon. Cheers! Atlantis-

LOL, will so the JDUBS have the date wrong it is at the end of1915 and not 1914! NOW, that is funny!

    CHEAT SHEET!

In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished near the end of A.D. 1915.

Be not surprised, then, when in subsequent chapters we present proofs that the setting up of the Kingdom of God is already begun, that it is pointed out in prophecy as due to begin the exercise of power in A.D. 1878, and that the "battle of the great day of God Almighty" (Rev 16:24), which will end in A.D. 1915, with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced.

They started at 606 and did not use a year zero so they came out at 1915.

Talk about a coincidence. This is a little off the topic but is about the wondrous date 1914. What are the odds that a man (Barbour) could come up with the date 1914 based on TOTALLY SCREWED UP FLAWED DATA, and then attract a groupie who decides he will find another prophecy that will end at the exact same date as the one that was based on TOTALLY SCREWED UP FLAWED DATA!! And by an even more incredibe coincidence his calculations are also based on TOTALLY SCREWED UP FLAWED DATA......shoot me please.....oompa...and all this miracle of odds gets a damn footnote!...How many dubs know this??? Nver heard it in any talk...thats for sure

From Mr. Barbour, editor of that publication, Russell also came to be persuaded that Christ’s invisible presence had begun in 1874.

    Footnote

jv sect. 2 chap. 10 p. 133 Growing in Accurate Knowledge of the Truth

This was influenced by the belief that the seventh millennium of human history had begun in 1873 and that a period of divine disfavor (of equal length to a former period considered to be one of favor) upon natural Israel would end in 1878. The chronology was flawed because of relying on an inaccurate rendering of Acts 13:20 in the KingJamesVersion, belief that there was a transcription error at 1 Kings 6:1, and failure to take into account Biblical synchronisms in the dating of reigns of the kings of Judah and of Israel. A clearer understanding of Biblical chronology was published in 1943, in the book "TheTruthShallMakeYouFree," and it was then refined the following year in the book "TheKingdomIsatHand," as well as in later publications.

Thank you Sarah for your comments!

You are right, the Watchtower clowns do provide a "good laugh" don't they? Keep up the good work Sarah!

    GermanXJW:

Thank you my friend! Please keep us up-to-date if the there are differences from the English verses the German publications. In 2008 there are bound to be some huge blunders!

    Cheers! Atlantis-

oompa: Thank you oompa for your reply! It is so good to hear from you! in the KingJamesVersion, belief that there was a transcription error at 1 Kings 6:1, The quote above would contradict what was published in the "Creation" book. In the book "Creation," published in 1927 by the Watchtower Society, Joseph Rutherford proclaimed that the "King James Version" was the most "masterful and perfect" version of the Bible! Rutherford states:

"In the year 1611 A. D. what is commonly known as the Authorized Version was produced. It is otherwise known as the King James Version, because King James of England was the prime mover in having it prepared.

Doubtless there has never been a more masterful and perfect English publication than the Authorized Version of the Bible. Cheers! Atlantis-

Yeap but the original date that Russell wrote was 1915! so the JW really have been teaching another date! and claiming that Barbour give it to Russell. Although the JDUBs have their Proclaimers Book, their 1914 would be wrong if they are using Russell's writings!

Atlantis so where is my beer! plus asparin?

Oompa its kind of strange the person who gave Russell his new light was was considered bad association! Also if you look at the Proclaimers Book I believe most of Russell's friendships all ended the exact same lenght of time. I just wanted to see what a nut he was. I think it is 4 1/2 years each, or 3 1/2 years!
