    Hello all !

I have read of some annecdotal evidence that in a few cases, a disfellowshipping can be reversed.

This has applied in the case of not following the correct procedure and other circumstances.

Can anyone provide any links or scans or stories of this happening ?

I believe that there is a case that was mentioned in the Watchtower of two missionaries that were WRONGLY disfellowshipped and had it revoked.

    Many many thanks,

    AO

a friend of mine had an experience like this in regards to his Dad. His Dad was df'd for something he had admitted to before he was baptized 20 or so years in the past. I guess he was rather flippant about it and the brothers didn't like his attitude, so they df'd him based on his attitude of a sin he committed prior to his baptism. He appealed it and it was rescinded.

    Sorry - no links.

But - I remember years ago - locally (well, within 60 miles of here), a man, who was well known locally - and was also a TV personality with a kids' show.

Anyway, he was married to a sweet wife (French), and they attended a KH in a small community. Somehow - he had gotten 'the calling', and started partaking of the memorial emblems. So did his wife.

Not sure if this was the reason or not, but the local elders called a meeting - and DFed him. (Not sure if his wife got DFed - I think so.)

Anyway... this fella didn't take it sitting down - he appealed. He appealed to Brooklyn HQ though - in writing.

Within a few months... word came back... he was 'exonerated'. That was the word used. Not re-instated. Not 'undisfellowshipped'. Nope - exonerated.

I also think they sent a crew down to that small town to see what the heck was going on... not sure about that detail, though.

So - there was quite a buzz locally about what those elders were thinking... or what the fella did - or didn't - do, etc. There weren't many 'facts' leaked about this situation.

    Regards,

It happened to Kwintestal. I've gone through his post history to find the thread for you. Although, you really should hear the story in person over beers. That dude is a NUT!!!!

The above thread has links to his DF story and the appeal.

I knew someone who was told they were going to be disfellowshipped but they appealed before the announcement. They reversed the decision, saying he hadn't expressed himself properly at the JC

Its a procedure they have. You are allowed to "appeal" before the announcement.

Many thanks to Atlantis for the scans.

Fleaman UK... It sounds amazing doesn't it ? I hope it's true. Apparantly, the story was in the last 10 years or so. So it must be on the CD... I couldn't find it, but when I have some more time I'll have a longer poke through the CD.

I have no idea why they'd put it in print either.

How can the elders make a mistake like that, if they are appointed by Jehovah? Aren't they approved to judge, and trained correctly?

Should the elder that did the disfellowshipping be disfellowshiped for making that mistake and shunning an innocent man?

Or is he above prosecution for his mistakes?

At the last district essembley they said about disfellowshiping that the elders do not get it wrong, they don't make mistakes, I nearly chocked a close family relative of mine was wronly disfellowshiped.
