How Many People Did You Help Come Into The "Truth"?

My major claim to fame was that I studied with a family that I found from house to house and all 6 got baptized. Within a year's time, the mom and daughter got baptized and then within the next year and a half all the others followed suit. 2 of the kids became Bethelites and the other daughter became an elder's wife. Her husband was a Bethelite too. The other young man is still an active JW. I also studied with lots of husbands and family members of JWs and they all, just about, got baptized too.

Most stayed in the religion and are diehard Witnesses. I'm sure these people are confused as to how I could EVER leave the Organization. I believe that the more entrenched Witnesses are with their families and friends, the harder it is to leave the cult.

Just one - a young man whom I got to know slightly . Somebody told him I was a Witness and came and asked me to talk to him about it. So it was not down to my skill. I have often thought about him. If I could still contact him I would love to try and put him straight...

I was always pretty good at witnessing at work. Unlike other JW's I've had the misfortune to see in action I was actually respectful of worldly co-worker's opinions. To me the key was to be friendly and pleasant to work with. I found that once others respected my opinions about things we had it common it was easy to talk about my beliefs. I had 2 co-workers get baptised. One of them ended up having a grandmother who was opposed, but liked me, and she ended up baptised as well.

One is DF'd, one is inactive, and one died a faithful witness.

    I believe it was 8.

My Sister, My Brother, an old man of 86 when he was baptised, a single man of about 50 at the time, a couple who are now Pharisee and Mrs Pharisee, a brother in law. There may have been others that I had major influence on but not sure how many.

    None.

I did study with one guy who eventually got baptized, but he was the husband of a JW girl and was eventually going to come in regardless of who studied with him. He eventually requested that an Elder with a family study with him, so I was out of the picture.

But I never brought anybody in, thank god.

    None.

In retrospect, I hope that I sparked their interest in spirituality, but I am relieved that no one is in the organization because of me.
