Well, I think every congregation has some issues, but I must say that the last congregation I was in was quite wonderful. The elders were loving and attentive, the publishers were open and friendly and everyone mixed well. There were no cliques. It was a very service-oriented congregation where even the lowliest publisher felt like their time in service was valued.

It had a very low rate of disfellowshipping and most people who moved in stayed as long as they could because they liked it there so much.

I realize this isn't the norm by any means, but I was grateful to be there as long as I was in. It was one of the few times as a jw that I actually felt "christian love".

Of course not, any group of human beings will have "problems". The larger the group, the more problems it will have. It's human nature.

What problems in the spiritual paradise? Are you kidding? Of course it wouldn't be a congregation if they didn't have problems and issues, like lack of love, condtional acceptance. back biting, and of course insistant gossip.

I've never experienced any problems. I guess it's because I'm a mellow, neutral guy so I don't tend to raise hackles and I don't contribute to gossip.

You wouldn't know it from talking to my parents, though. They're constantly bitching about something or other and when my Dad was an elder he had his tires slashed. My Grandfather was an equally cantankerous character and he has his long-running feuds as well.

It seems to depend on what you bring to the table.

oompa, Peyton Place huh, well that says it all doesn't it. God's word dosen't mean crap when one is horny now does it. Reminds me of ev ents and happenings in former congregations. Po daughter divorces hubby and marrier her and former hubby's friend. That friend had been having sexual relations with her for some time. His wife (that is the friends) was having sexual relations with her hubby's friend. Upshot of it all was that they got divorced and married each others spouses and due to fornication (lots of it evidently) they were only disfellowhipped for 4 months on couple and 6 months the other. The PO never stepped down and the Fathers of the sons who all happened to be elders didnt step down either. Just goes to show that its who you are and who you know.
