The letter "q" here stands for "quotient", which in my dictionary is defined as: "result of the division of one number or quantity by another".

The two numbers in this case are: (1) the mental age divided by (2) the physical age.

So if a two year old wears size two shoes, there might be a correlation. I do not wear size 66 (almost 67) shoes, so the correlation gets lost somewhere. My feet stopped growing a while ago.

Can't possibly. My sister, a family doctor, has size 4, women's, shoes. Believe me, when she has you in her sights it doesn't matter how short she is. She towers over you.

jg, that doesn't rule out the possibility that there is a negative correlation. ;-P

Your preference does not jive with your persona.

    Scope is soooo wimpish.

All right, smartypants. My son-in-law is six foot seven and knows five languages fluently. He shops big and tall for his entire wardrobe, including his shoes. I am sure I could fit two of my feet in one of his. He's aced every examination he's ever sat in on.

Yeah, just think how smart he might have been if he'd been born with petite appendages. ;-)

Are you trying to make a case for small appendages?

I wonder why you would want to do that?
