Great movie!
In 1970s Harlem, Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) is a quiet, unassuming driver to one of NYC's most notorious drug lords. When his boss suddenly croaks, Frank steps into the power vacuum to become an even bigger crime kingpin. Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) is the hardnosed cop determined to bring Frank to justice. Based on a true story.

Wonder why his story is just now being told?

Crowe was excellent too. No ego trips for either of them. Denzel is one cool dude.
loved that movie, was very damn good. little violent for the squeamish but was great
I thought it was good - not great but good. It was a long movie - the theater seats were crappy so I couldn't get comfortable no matter what I did after about the first 2 hours!..Most of the audience was adult but some fool brought his little boy about 7 years old - got no idea how he got in with a kid that age - sammieswife.
I'll be going to see this film tomorrow night. I hear the performances are excellent -- with a great scene by one of my favorite activist/actresses Ruby Dee.

Any child accompanied by an adult can get into an "R" rated movie (in the USA). But in most cases I don't think it's a good idea.
We saw it last night too. I read the Entertainment Weekly article where both Denzel and Russell were interviewed. This movie was put on hold for awhile. They finally got it together.
I thought that Nicky Barnes played by Cuba Gooding was not handled better than it could of been. He too was a big time drug pusher in the same time period. Still it was a very good true to life movie. Both men portrayed in the movie are still alive.
Did anyone see We Own The Night? Another Cops and Robbers movie, good cast too!
Blueblades
I saw we own the night, it was okay.
Hopefully going to see this one sometime this week. If my drive/impulse ever comes back while on this ritalin now...
My question is, how does a guy shoot somebody in the head, miday, in Harlem and no one says ANYTHING???
Mini. Frank was well known by the police who were on the take and getting payoff as we saw in the last part of the movie. That's how he got away with what he did.
