  The first and best mummy I saw, was in the museaum in the old governor's mansion in Baton Rouge, LA. She had red, kinky hair. It looked like a short afro. The tour guide told us that many Egyptians of that time had red kinky hair. He further explained that the beautiful black hair you see in Egyptian artwork was a portrayal of wigs that were common at the time.
