The USA Witnesses are old! The DC's are overwhelmed by old people waiting on the New System It is very sad.

My experience is that the olde people are only noticed while they are still attending meetings and assemblies. When they get to the point that they can no longer attend, they are almost completely forgotten. I saw that with my mother. However, when she finally died seven years later, it was amazing how her "friends" showed up, telling us what a wonderful person she was. But they weren't there for her in her time of need.

Bonnie_Clyde, the same thing happened with my grandmother. Faithfully attended all the meetings but when she got sick she didn't get a single visit from ANY of the elders in the congregation. My father had to get on the phone and try to guilt them into coming but they didn't even bother until the funeral (which we DIDN'T hold at the kingdom hall).

This is very true. I've noticed in some countries that witnesses overall appear younger. Anyway, it is a real shame and this is the first time I've ever read that the WTBS open acknowledge that people will die in this system of old age. I remember back in 1990 when the CO's were saying that we didn't have 5 years left in the system and that I should drop out of school and focus on kingdom interest...that was 17 years ago!!!...LOL

I too know plenty of old people that have gotten old and died in the org. There are also plenty of old folks in the org with no kids that will drive you crazy because they want to adopt you as their spiritual daughter which is code for "pretend that you are our real daughter, pick us up and take us to run errands and give us money." Then when you don't do it, the elders get on you for not taking care of them because "they consider you to be their daughter" and then you have to hurt their feelings and tell them that you have a real mother and father. That has happened to several of my close friends and onetime to me, which is why I learned to "correct" old people in the old who would befriend me and start telling me that I was like a daughter to them. I've even had elders ask me to move in with older couples "to help them out". I remember looking at this one elder dead in his eyes and was like "...that's not going to happen" and then he suggested that they move in with me, then I asked why they couldn't move in with him, that ended the conversation.

Its a sad situation for the JWs...I hope the org falls very soon.

Okay. What - in your opinion - is the appropriate replacement for the org ? How should the replacement look like, and what shall we tell to all the old members? How should we explain the situation?

The Watch Tower is well known for its Non sequitur arguments. In too many instances, they would present you with a story or statement, which by all logical standards proves X or Y, but they would try to go around it, trying (and always failing) to prove that it supports Z.

Okay, but what should we (they) do? Say it! Should we (they) install a "gods channell" based exclusively on scientifically provable facts? Well, its interesting, please tell us your opinion. More than 7 millions of JWs - depressive, hopeless, desperate people - are waiting on an answer..
