I think a lot of the time people who are dfed have already broken free to a point and have friends on the outside already, thus no need to post on sites like this one. From the ones I know, they'd just like to move on and forget about it, and most of them do. God I wish I could do that. Not like I don't enjoy the conversation on this board though!

I would say it does -- sometimes. Some DF'd people still believe JW's have the truth. Other DF'd ones survive without a site like this.
I'd say though that for those who were hurt and upset by the disfellowshipping policy, this is a good place to find people who understand. I've heard it said many times that you can find more understanding in a short time here than you can find in a long time in the Watchtower club.
At any time of day or night, you can reach an understanding soul here. You don't have to go it alone.
