because now whatever you upload to jwd as avatar becomes a .jpg and not a .gif anymore....and you can't animate .jpg's.. :(

I think Simon said he doesnt want animated gifs as avatars cause it distracts,and when you read a post and see the animated avatar moving all the time, it may irritate the reader.
