No $1 a day insurance in the US that I know of. Insurance and taxes are a very different game in general here than in many European countries. People in the US historically want less government interference.
My experience is that the WTS only does what is the minimum required by Caesar's law.

Are you a jw or christian? 'I don't see why one should try to make jokes about a person dying, no matter what organization he or she would or not be part of.' That is a rather unjehovahly statement to make as he said he was gonna laugh when what his opposers dreaded came upon them. I guess that would be us 'apostates', hey, that would include me. All the wt pictures show the nice jehovists happily ignoring all the blood, guts, suffering and terror around them as their leader laughingly annihilates 99% of earths population. I would say you are a little out of wt step here, advocating this type of empathy for people of other denominations than your own.
If you are accusing me of making fun of the jw lady who was killed or the ones who were hurt: i already explained that on a previous post. It wasn't aimed at those people, but wt and bible concepts. Sorry, if that was misunderstood.

This is a tragic event---on many fronts. Perhaps it will shine light on a darkness that needs attention, but I'm so tired of senseless death. 27 years old. She's close to my age. My heart grieves for her and her loved ones. May she find peace.
I understood your point, Saint Satan. I'm still not clear on how or why you got singled out, as many were making the same point. It is the inane money saving tactics of a multi-billion dollar corporation that uses hate and fear mongering to milk its adherants, and knowingly place them and their children in dangerous situations, that is to blame here. This woman's death is not trivial. And I don't believe anyone here believes that to be the case. It was nothing short of horrific and needless. However, we've all heard the idiotic comments and "biblical" reasoning by JW's regarding death of those who "must have had it coming". Or converesely, being "saved" if one were a faithful adherant. If this had happened at one of the Aussi Apostate B-B-Que fests...well, you can hear it now ("then, jehovah caused her to choke on her turkey leg just when she was joking about Armageddon!! *gasp!* We all know they have it coming. Remember, do not let your eye feel sorry for them!) It is THIS insane reasoning that is being highlighted. I am sorry that it appears to be at the expense of this innocent woman who, no doubt thought she was divinely protected when she was doing such good work.

Sorry for posting this twice. This is a scan of the photo posted in a German forum. I don't have a scan of the whole article.
The dead sister was 27years old, married for half a year. Her husband was having breakfast at the building site when the accident happened. Two brothers are paralysed.
The crane lifted some wood and broke down. The sister was beheaded. The building is destroyed. (I just mention this for a complete report.)
Shortly, after the accident the mayor and a high official passed the site on their way to another place.
Everyone is shocked.
This story hit local news only but JW in Germany are shocked.

The crane operator was not a JW but a professional. So, if he is to blame the victims will get money from his insurance. I heard JW say that they feel relieved that he is no JW because of the reproach on Jehovah's name.
The two injured men are aged 21 and 33. The damage to property is about 80.000$. It took 5 hours two clear the building site.
Many workers and helpers get psychological help to cope with the situation.

I'm not making fun of those jws who got psych help, but the fact that they went to 'worldly' sources, who are controlled by satan, his demons and agents, instead of exclusively their elders, cos, dos, or special reps sent out from their german branch, shows that the wt is full of shit. If jehovah was what they claim, if he was leading, guiding, directing and empowering them the way they have claimed, then they really wouldn't need outside help. 'Spirtually older men' whos prayers 'having much power' 'greasing them with oil' would 'make the indisposed one well'. And so, all these scriptues do not apply to the wt. Its leaders are a bunch of spiritually bankrupt old f*****g hypocrites, to use jesus' words (what he might have used instead of 'offspring of vipers' and 'whitewashed graves'). IMO
