The 12 percent figure is authentic.
Peer reviewed medical articles consistently show a significant population of Jehovah’s Witnesses act contrary to the Watchtower organization’s blood doctrine.
A 2004 medical study by Drs Cynthia Gyamfi and Richard L. Berkowitz published in Obstetrics and Gynecology demonstrated that at least 10 percent of Jehovah’s Witnesses choose blood based therapies contrary to official Watchtower doctrine.
A 1982 survey of an entire congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses conducted by Drs Larry Findley and Paul Redstone published in Archives of Internal Medicine demonstrated that 12 percent would choose blood based therapy contrary to official Watchtower doctrine. Findley and Redstone also acknowledged that, if anything, there survey was skewed in favor of the Watchtower organization, which only makes the findings all the more significant.
A 1995 review of medical records by Dr. Kaaron Benson published in Cancer Control Journal demonstrated that least 10 percent of Jehovah’s Witnesses choose blood based therapies contrary to Watchtower doctrine.
