Nothing hateful about what Lady Lee wrote..The truth is the truth.....The JW`s are not the WBT$..So many think they are one in the same..It`s simply not so.....I have 500 shares of the Rand Cam Engine Corp.framed on my wall..Rand Cam makes engines that deliver Bombs to their Target..The WBT$ owns 50% of Rand Cam.....My fellow share holders in the War Machine, are not the Jehovah`s Witness`s..My fellow share holders are the WBT$...OUTLAW

I did though find very few genuinely charming people though; which is to be expected i suppose as the the true nature of people is subsumed to conform the new personality

I knew some great people who were JWs. They were my dearest and often only friends. Sadly when I left they had to remain obedient to an all-powerful God-replacement and pretend I didn't exist.

The main problem is the teachings and how they are enforced on followers

Well said Lady Lee! What else would you expect from an organization that quotes "Ted Bundy" serial killer and a "Wicca priestess?" Paragraph 4 here: http://www.watchtower.org/e/20020708a/article_01.htm But not everyone agrees. Pornography has often been linked to a wide range of harmful outcomes and attitudes. Some suggest a connection between pornography and rape as well as other forms of violence against women and children. Infamous serial killer Ted Bundy admitsthat he had a "strong appetite for violent pornography." He says: "This condition is not immediately seen by the individual or identified as a serious problem. . . . But this interest . . . becomes geared towards matters of a sexual nature that involve violence. I cannot emphasize enough the gradual development of this. It is not short-term." ************************************************************** And, by all means, let us not leave out this Wicca priestess! The Watchtower likes to quote her too!

    Beliefnet Columnist
Margot Adler is the author of "Drawing Down the Moon," the classic study of goddess spirituality and contemporary paganism, and "Heretic's Heart: A Journey Through Spirit and Revolution." She is a correspondent for National Public Radio, and her reports air on NPR's award-winning shows "All Things Considered," "Morning Edition," and "Weekend Edition." She hosts "Justice Talking," a radio show on the subject of the U.S. Constitution, which is produced by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. She also lectures widely on paganism and earth traditions. She has been a priestess of Wicca for more than 25 years. http://www.beliefnet.com/author/author_28.html The Watchtower describes Margot Adler as a "researcher" in their article! Paragraph 5 here: http://www.watchtower.org/e/20000401/article_01.htm Throughout history, witches have been hated, persecuted, tortured, even slain. Little wonder that modern practitioners of witchcraft are eager to improve their image. In one survey, dozens of witches were asked what message they most wanted to express to the public. Their answer, summarized by researcher Margot Adler, was: "We are not evil. We do not worship the Devil. We don't harm or seduce people. We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. We are not weird. . . . You don't have to be afraid of us. . . . We are much more similar to you than you think." Cheers Atlantis-

    Sociopathic organizations?

    Microsoft?
    Dow Chemical?
    Kaiser Permanente?
    All Major Christian Religions?

    Haliburton?
    AT&T?
    United Way?

My point? Don't be a hypocrite and single out an organization that doesn't send its young people off to war to kill and be killed.

I wonder how many of us fit in to the wt cookie cutter mold because it was just a continuation pattern of the environment in which we were raised. If my father had been a dub he would have made a classic district overseer.

    Hmmm let's see.

Is a MS employee allowed to use non-MS product when they are at home (not on the office's dime?

yes Who is going to check and report it back to the office? What they do at home is not interfered with.

Is a person that works for the United Way forbidden giving money to other charities?

No. They can do whatever they want with their money

    All major Christian religions

A person from one religion is not forbidden from entering the church another religion. No one asks them a bunch of questions to make sure they accept every doctrine of the "home" church and no one will report a person for doing so.

Shall I go on? I'm sure you get the drift. Well maybe not proplog2 but others will

    Opps I forgot the end

My point? Don't be a hypocrite and single out an organization that doesn't send its young people off to war to kill and be killed.

How does this one point negate all or even one of the points in the original post? There are 15 points and your 1 does nothing to change the practices of the WTS

I think there are many JWs who fit the mold even before they joined. My mother is one of them. It validates sense of the world. It encouraged her to continue to be abusive to her children. The rules for living were the rules she grew up with in an abusive home. I suspect that many people are like her. They need someone to tell them how to live, what to believe and gives them some higher purpose. People who came from abusive families and have not dealt with their childhood abuse fit in quite easily with an abusive religion Atlantis wow I haven't seen that before. Thanks for posting it

    Lady Lee:

It is one thing to disprove a doctrine, reveal a coverup, highlight mistakes. It is another thing to make ad hominen attacks. "PROFILE OF A SOCIOPATHIC ORGANIZATION" is putting a negative label on the Watchtower Organization. The use of the word "sociopathic" masquerades as some kind of scientific and objective description or classification. In fact your presentation is lacking in exhaustive evidence. Science requires some kind of measurement. In your first example you use very general statements:

"The WT literature is FILLED with language used to evade the real issues and to avoid responsibility. "
    What kind of measurement does "filled" represent? 99% - 50% - 10%?

    "The literature RARELY speaks plainly"

Again, what kind of measurement does "rarely" represent 1% - 5%?

Furthermore, you completely fail to make a comparison between other organizations and where they may fit on this supposed (actually non-existent) scale of organizational sociopathy. Where do Catholics, who forbid their clergy to marry fit in? Would Bowen call that a pedophile paradise? Or where do you put the continuing ritual mutilation of male genitals by Jews?

Of course all of us tend to make statements that frivolously suggest some kind of precision. But this accusation of "sociopathy" is a serious accusation about an organization that has 6,000,000 members. Psychologists, when evaluating a person for a diagnosis, are expected to be extremely cautious before making such a potentially damaging claim.

Do I need to waste time by going through each of the 15 points you list?

I took the one off the top of the list because, ordinarily, you make your strongest point first.

On the other hand I have put forward the "best" defense of JW's. They don't go to war and kill people. They are NOT the "christians" that have been killing each others for the last 2000 years.

If you are going to successfully attack JW's you had better do it on their strongest points.

Your post is at the least a propaganda piece. But it really comes across as a hate post. Maybe not to the people that participate here but to many lurkers that are peeking in and looking for something substantial.

In light of the discussions about the WTS being Narcissistic I thought this would bring a slightly different color to the organization
