Just so you know, Darin lost the election to city council.

We worked really hard the last 72 hours. We walked neighborhoods, ran a phone bank, stood on the corner of a major intersection with campaign signs and waved to traffic. We stood near the polling places on election day and waved to the traffic.

The night before election day about 12 of us went to eat at Bufalo Wild Wings Cafe, the food was good and everyone was in a good mood, expecting the best.

Election day was very cold and most of the voters were elderly and the majority of them were unfriendly, it was very disheartening.

On election evening Darin went downtown to the board of elections to await the results. I was waiting at home, nervously pacing around. Darin called us at around 9:30 PM and broke the news to us. We were all devastated.

All is not lost as Darin has been offered positions on several zoning boards and committees, plus the county party wants to run him on a county ticket. So we have more things to look forward to in the future.

The biggest mistake in all this campaign is that the Senior Vote wasnt aggressively courted, Darin listened to other advice and was trying to reach the "yuppie" demographic. I knew all along that the Senior Vote in that town is overwhelming.

Oh well, you live and you learn.

I am ready for the next campaign.

That's too bad, JG. It's hard to break into politics, so don't be too disheartened. Your brother looks quite young, so he probably has bright prospects down the road a ways.

    Thanks for keeping us posted.

    Regards,

    Sandra

Sounds like he made an impression regardless of the outcome of THIS election.

I'm sure your brother is going to have an great impact.

With a devoted brother like you backing him how can he fail?

Keep up the good work. I am proud of both of you.

Thanks for letting us know the results.

Since you and Darin have found what works, get right up and at it again. Experience is the best teacher of all.

I'm sending good vibes your way.

You're very smart that way. Sorry to hear that Darin didn't win, but encouraged by the other offers.
