I knew a guy who thought he was so cool and nothing could phase him. He worked a while as caretaker in a church and would lock up in the dark unafraid of spirits or anything. One time the church boiler made a noise one night just as he was locking the front door. He quickly went with small torch in hand into the vestry just to check it out and got the shock of his life when confronted by this strange figure who he then proceeded to raise his fists towards. He almost had heart failure. It was the vicars full length mirror and he'd just scared himself near to death. He remained cool for the rest of the evening!
For anyone still labouring under the illusion that Fonzie was ever cool, just check this 44 second clip at YouTube.

Fonz? Cool? SIT ON IT!
My young adult children like to hang out with me and their friends all like me. Does that mean I'm cool?

My teenage and older neices and nephews think so. We've taken each of them out for their 21st on a bus. They like that I can shoot whiskey like it's water and dance to their music. They have all said we would much rather go out with you guys than our own friends. I tell them it's because we're old enough to not give a f*** what people think about us. We went to their house for their Halloween party and before long lights were off and music was blaring, with their Uncle as the DJ. And I made really gross treats. They said we made the party, how 'bout that. Our first time out.
Now to my kids I am crazy, but they always want me to fix problems at school because I'm meaner than their Dad.
I will never be, however, cooler than my husband. That's according to all the above mentioned kids. He rides a Harley, looks scary, and is friends with some cool rock stars. It doesn't hurt when he can get them backstage at shows. He is who he is and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it. That's pretty cool to me.

Changling - I am cool like you. My kids and their friends think I am fun to hang out with. So do my granddaughter's friends and she is 15. I was never this cool when I was 15 though.
Lennyinbluemont told me I was a cool grandma when he met my granddaughter and I in Richmond so I have it on good authority.
I'm not the "bored with everything" cool. I am the "excited about everything" type.
I've been told that I'm a cool mom!
I know this is a dorky wayyyyy un-cool question, but,
how do you become "cool"?
I want to know because I would really like to be "cool".
Seriously, this has eluded me my whole life and I want to change and be cool.
How do you become cool?

Oh, looking back at the Calvin cartoon I am supposed to act bored?
Im not sure.
I think acting unphased might be a better description of cool people.
Bored is too much emotion for them.
Tranquil and unphased is cool to me.
