Trip tears

Hubby and I went hiking this weekend. We were on our way and his parents called. I could tell by the way he was responding that it had to do with something JW. The phone got cut off and I asked him if everything was okay. He said his mother was talking about a circuit overseer or something being in town and that she was excited. At this, as usual, my stomach started turning.

I love this man so much. It hurts to think that it could all be taken away from me. I, of course and as usual, couldn't hold back the tears. Tried to conceal this because little bro in law was also in the truck. We were listening to Harry Potter books for the trip. Wonder how that would make his mom feel. Pretty sure it would be an issue.

Good thing is is that it was a wonderful hike!!! Ouachita Mountains AR. 3.5 days 30 miles. Amazing.

I'm married to an inactive JW. Well, I say inactive. He was raised JW from about the age of 7-10, hasn't been active in about 5-6 years. Thanks for the hugs!

    Keep doing what you're doing.

It sounds like he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

The two of you seem to have something special.

4MYLOVE -- I am glad you had a lovely weekend and if your husband has been inactive for a while now, it sounds like he has serious doubts which is a big step forward.

Hopefully one day he will leave altogether.

    Hi

you say you think you could "lose it all" does this mean you think that the hubby might turn back to the JWs? What are his inclinations? What does he say when you and he discuss it?

Sorry if you have already posted on this- I don't get to read so much here.

The only time we've discussed it he gets very defensive. He says he believes it is the only true religion. He doesn't celebrate any of the holidays with my family and me. He joins but doesn't join in. Get it? The only time he has made an effort was when the assembly came this year and his father said he wouldn't feel safe staying in our house if we weren't going. He says he went to appease him. Don't know. thanks
