I recieved a telephone call from a prominent bethelite yesterday
He told me that the proposed London bethel move to Milton Keynes had been scrapped
The reason, Brooklyn feel that since Sept 11 the big A is so close less than a year away (right!!!!!) that they have stopped all building projects in the pipeline worldwide.
He wants all travelling overseers to use this as an example of the "urgency of the times"
Has anyone else heard anything along these lines?

Or the usual, : the end is getting closer all the time, just around the corner, etc .
I think they are realizing that 'this system' has more life in it than their organization. If the 'end' doesn't come soon, they know they are in real crap.

Maybe the cash flow is slowing down...it could be all tied up in property and investments...which were affected by the 9/11/2001 destruction of the WTC. Lots of large companies are taking hits which will drop the return in investments...just a guess from a investment neophyte.
I think blondie is right - if true it probably has more to do with finances than any confidence or belief in the end coming any-time soon.
I would agree it may be financial, as well as the fact that with all this UN stuff floating around, perhaps they wish to hit the sub-conscious of all the JW's and keep them from leaving and continue knocking on doors.....at least for another year until the Big-A doesn't happen (again).
This is classic behavior in a totalitarian regime. The true
reasons for change are covered up and a convenient lie is
substituted.
Once, it is reported in the former Soviet Union, the armed
forces built a railroad bridge almost overnight as a demonstration
of their abilities. Bigwig officials noticed the crew sitting ontop
of the train as it passed by and asked why this was so. The
officer in charge said it was part of the demonstration, to shot
at enemy planes from the roof of the train.
The actual reason was that the train crew was in fear for their lives
because they thought the bridge would collapse and they wanted to
jump off. Soviets did this kind of reactive lying all the time.
The Watchtower does it too - please consider their reaction to
reports of depression and suicide in the organization: "Why,
Jehovah's people are the happiest people on earth!"

Pretty obvious really. They will affiliate with the Open University so that they can use their library, located in Milton Keynes.
These guys will do anything to get a library card; it's those girls in horn rimmed glasses and swept up hair behind the front desk I think.

Since IBSA House was built, all of the French printing was moved to London because of the Tax Issue in France, they are running out of room trying to run both branches from London.
However has anyone elso heard of this postponing of spending due to "end of this world", Up to now the policy has always been
"Live your life as if the end was tomorrow, but expand the facilities for the 1000 year period" Why the sudden change??
As usual there will be more to this than meets the eye.
