My Mother was a life long Catholic and attended the same parish for over 40 years when she died last December 2 parishioners attended the funeral (one was not the parish priest). I just find it odd that one of the largest religions on earth can be so distant towards one another...I will add the funeral mass was not at her home parish but 22 miles away in another parish close to the nursing home she was in for the last 2 years of her life...
