Why is this so hard to believe? In the old testament, Jehovah commands that no illigitimate child can belong to the temple or come in before the congregation. So, even though Christians no longer follow the old testament, the Biblical principle/precedent is in place for this type of behaviour. Is the God of the Christians different from the God of the Jews? Have his standards changed? Or do some of his followers just follow his "guiding principles" more closely than others?

wow, this is just like reading the Scarlet Letter. in our KH we have 2 sisters that had a child out of wedlock and none of the kids are shuned only the mothers. SHOCKING!

Happened to my daughter at school in the office. The secretary asked why the sister wouldn't talk to her. The sister looked even more stupid when my daughter said it was because we are no longer her religion.
I, like others,have found more love and compassion out of the organization that prides itself on love amongst themselves.

If they had done it to my child I would have told them -with a loud voice- what I think of such a behavior.

I remember a while ago a couple in my congo got reproved and the young girl was pregnant. They married and of course didn't have a pot to piss in so me and a friend wanted to do a baby shower for her. I mean she wasn't disfellowshipped. So my friend was making the arrangemnts and it was to be done at my house, but I guess some elders felt it wouldn't be correct so they told my friend to do something on her own, but no baby shower...I mean, seriously, this was so unloving. This couple needed things for their little baby and I think it would have been a great show of christianly love to have a huge baby shower...but I guess I was wrong...Anyways, my friend did something very small at their house...Sometimes it amazes me how unloving people can be.....

Not all would act that way. They are among the worst.
In my case, I have held DF'd people's babies at the hall and not worried about who was looking or thinking evil thoughts.

but then jw's do preach that our children will receive the same punishment as us, so, in their books, he's already dead, just like her. Sick but true.
This is the same reasoning my parents uses and they haven't seen their grandkids in over a year. My youngest is only 3 years old and doesn't know my parents but knows my ex's parents very well (my ex's parents never were JW's).
