I wonder what Jehovah thinks of all this.

My mother told me about the news story. I was surprised that she did. I agree that they are digging themselves in a deep hole. Wonder if NBC saw the covers from their magazines from years ago blasting the Catholic church for their pedophilia scandals?

That's all I have to say about that.

Their reply was so like them. It sucks! I hope the real numbers and info gets out there like the 23,000 pedophiles on their list and their cruel two witness rule. Those that were dfd for going to the authorities need to speak out too.
Sure hope the press picks up this story and runs with it!

The millions of non-JW's who saw this broadcast will not see WT's rebuttal.

The WTS could have admitted this lawsuit paynment when it happened, but no-ooo, and they just put out an Awake- Protect your Kids, with no mention that THEY were part of the problem, too. The dam has been breached and while it is just a trickle today, I fully expect a flood of KH victims to come forward and the resulting scandal could break the WTS wide open. Even King David wasn't sorry until his secret sin was exposed. I don't see that the WTS is sorry yet.

The Truth of the matter is that most elders that have to deal with this problem will not take the situation out of the hall, especially if the witness is repentant and admits to what he had done.
In the past there has always been a public relations policy with the general public " We are God's only true earthly organization unlike Satan's Christendom "
and God's organization is clean and righteous
It has been one of their marketing schemes for decades,
Well until these recent law suits happened that is, now HQ has brought out a new policy
of course what they say and what will actually indeed happen at the KHS is usually is something different.
One obvious problem with not letting the authorities look into the situation, is if the individual is repetitive on his actions and is DF which would be common
the person could move to another area without having a watchful eye put in place.
Particularly so if the individual wasn't to return to another KH
I rather have the legal system deal with pedophiles and be treated in a proper way for this disorder rather than some elders at a KH.

They left out some words. I will help them.
We do not condone or protect child molesters. Our elders expel unrepentant sinners who commit this crime. We send them out to the world, to molest the worldly, non Jehovah loving people's children. They are only children for goodness sakes. Not like they are that important. They don't make us any money. Actually they cost us money, with the parents buying Pampers, instead of giving it to us. (1 Corinthians 5:13) In the United States, over 80,000 elders currently serve in over 12,300 congregations.
