Caffeine is a drug, a stimulant, found in "food" such as coffee, tea and chocolate products. A cup of coffee contains between 100 and 150 milligrams of caffeine, a cup of tea 90 milligrams, a bottle of cola drink 40 to

72 milligrams, a cup of cocoa 50 milligrams and a bar (85 grams; 3 ounces) of bittersweet chocolate about 75 milligrams. With most persons caffeine stimulates the heart and kidneys, quickens reaction time and

promotes alertness. Caffeine, though, seems to aid some older persons to relax. Also, caffeine is sometimes used to treat headaches, because it affects the blood vessels of the brain. Yes, the drug caffeine

produces effects on the human body. However, does the Bible condemn eating or drinking things that contain natural substances that may stimulate or relax you?

    Answer...

    No!

But i get the point :-)

There is room for contradiction here.

Should Belgian ales produced by monks be consumed?

Should food and beverages blessed as Kosher by rabbis be consumed, or has this action by agents of Babylon the Great tainted them?

Can food and beverages in "holiday" packaging be consumed? (We had an elder that said no to that one.)

No Santa on his Coca-Cola. No, sir!

Another elder from the congregation we shared the Hall with was concerned because we had a vacuum with the brand name Dirt Devil. He asked if that might not affect the flow of Jehovah's Holy Spirit on the two congregations. ( I wish I was making this up).

I know you are not making it up. It is stupid enough to be fact.

I wanted to buy a car back in 1968 or 69.

It was a Dodge DEMON. I was told that that would not be an appropriate choice for a christian (dub)

I fell into line and bought something else. Mind control anyone..

It's spelled "cappuccino." I love that stuff. My dad used to call it a status symbol because we couldn't afford to it buy every day at $3 a pop, but the richer JW's would buy it on a daily basis. I usually bought one once a week with a chocolate covered bean on top of the lid. Now, if you add up all the cappuccinos bought all year, it adds up to a lot (so do the calories!).
