Great post. took a while to read. the anonymity bit is so true a sad fact for most here to live in the shade for fear of what?? it's wrong to have to live like this, shows the wicked power they have. i also have known a number of anointed and for a fact they were never asked to contribute. MW
Hello Nick,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post, and I look forward to more insights.
Good points regarding the FDS in relation to the GB. This has been a sore point with myself and other JWs who have had their awakening, and we are amazed why other people don't see it. You did a good job expounding on the ridiculousness of the situation.
Cheers!

PS to you Nick: I am still serving as an elder, but am actively pulling innocent people out of the religion and to safety. I am always looking for new points to share with my friends and family to help spark an awakening within them, so any information/experiences etc that may be helpful are most welcome and appreciated.
learn to appreciate what has happened to you, what if you never realized this?
men fail yes, but the org, is wrong , now in your open mindness you can see that!

Welcome to the Board Nick.
Great post. I agree with you, it makes no sense.
These people claim to represent us all, and yet they have no interaction, no imput from the thousands around the globe who make up the so called 8000 or so, annointed.
I had no idea that Headquarters didn't keep a record, a name at the very least. That is news to me... Makes me wonder what role the annointed even play in the scheme of things, whats the point, other than their "Heavenly Calling".
I feel you are right, they should be organized, have meetings and pool their ideas and figure out as a group what is best for Jehovah's people. Maybe if it were that way, rules wouldn't be so harsh, there would be more understanding of each other.
Oh, and Women would also have some imput... (yeah right).
Again, Great Post

great to have you nick. excellent experience and very fortunate that your whole family understood your decision and went with you.
a lot of us here still have family who can't shake it and conflict arises.
one of the main reasons i left was b/c when there was 'new light' that directly affected something where the elders harrased my family about only a few years earlier, it was only seen as 'new light', and there were no apologies to my family for how they were treated when they chose to seek therapy for suicide attempts and depression. that's when i realized every arrow points outward from the elders, COs and DOs and governing body. there is never humility shown. i believe some want to show it, but the legality and efforts to cover their a$$es are more important than resolving and comforting individuals adversly treated.
even recently, when i was told of the new arrangement for elders to bring df'ed ones back into the organization quicker...the WT didn't apologize for its policy of many years, but pointed the direction at the elders, like they've been wrong all along kind of thing.
if an individual did that, it would be seen as abusive, alcoholic behaviour, never taking responsibility for their actions and always blaming someone else.
through years of meditating on the many experiences i witnessed and was a part of in the organization, 95% of the time no responsibility has ever been taken from the top...that might be 100% b/c i never saw any humility, but i give the benefit of the doubt.
i can't wait to hear your experiences of your years as an elder and how you might see certain things differently now.
and i'm very glad you figured out the paragraph tag. :)

Hey:
Now those are posts and a half.
I have nothing against posts like this except that I just do not have enough time or patience to read them.
later.

Nick I had a similar situation in my early years where I was cleared up of accusations and yet nothing was done to the slanderers. I believe I was 17 yrs old when I decided to move where 'the need was greater'. I asked the presiding overseer if that was ok with him. He said yes. I asked him if I had to meet with the body of elders for them to give ok. He said no. Well, then I moved to my new assignment. My new elders loved me so much they were expecting me to help them in every way. I remember even conducting the sunday watchtower study every now and then.
Well, this didn't go for too long. When the time came for my new secretary to ask for my publisher card that's when hell broke loose. My publisher record was sent with an awful 'recommendation' letter. They were not recommending me to continue as MS. The arrival of this letter coincided with the CO visit. He read me the letter and asked for explanation after each accusation; these were:
1. Developing an attraction for a young sister in my former congregation. (Duh, I was 17-18 and so was she). - The CO laughed hard; he thought they were referring to a 13-14 year old girl.
2. Not showing up to conduct field service meetings. - Explained to him that it happened ONCE when I had a blown tire and no cell phone - I was a young and poor pioneer bro.
I can't remember the other reasons they gave but were as dumb as these two. The CO had to refer the case to the WTS and my new elders asked me they would argue on my behalf but that I was welcome to attach my own letter to theirs. However, I was told that it would be better if I did not as that would make me look rebellious. I did not and things were cleared up.
One of the few positive things about this whole ordeal had to do with an explanation the CO gave me. He asked me to be patient and do not let the accusations get to me. He then told me, "look, every single day there is murder, an abortion or something evil...and our God Jehovah is blamed for these things. He is very patient though and will wait fo the day things are cleared up." Whether this is the case with God or not, it did help me then. But then the CO blew it afterwards as he said to leave things on Jehovah when I inquired about some sort of judicial discipline against the slanderer elders.
