WAC, that is pretty much how my sister responded to the dateline special a fews years back and the UN information I gave her. She sounded so childish, immature to me when she denied it all and called them all liars and haters of Jehovah. It was really disappointing that I was actually more mature and smarter than my older(ten yrs older) siter. I looked up to her my whole life so you can imagine my disappointment.

I agree with you that you will find child molesters in ANY religion, even ours. And I did see the Dateline show about 3 years ago about JW and how the elders in some halls handled it. I did think the answers were lame on our part. But I also think the parents of the kids were stupid for not going to the authorities. Point being we are not perfect just like the disciples. Things are not always handled in the best way by the elders and thats sad. But it doesn't make our religion wrong. Our Bible teachings are right even though we are imperfect. Don't left the imperfections of others ruin your relationship with Jehovah and his organization.

Trick hugh?? I bet thousands of molested children wish it was only a trick and that it never really happened! What a CREEP! Talk about DENIAL!!!! So sad! That is why people like Barbara Anderson are such a hero! No one wants to believe this many children are in danger and have been abused! These children need a voice because they obviously aren't being heard!

That's an easy one. Back then you were being told what to believe and what to think. Now you think for yourself and arrive at your own beliefs and conclusions. How can you be brainwashed now if you have no one dictating to you? It's not like you're now part of some organized apostate cult or something.

So the parents were stupid for following Jehovah's directions that told them to shut their mouths and not slander the molestor for whom they were not able to provide two witnesses against?

Things are not always handled in the best way by the elders and thats sad.

This guy forgets that the elders just don't act on these matter without guidance. They were following the rules laid down by the governing body. It wasn't just "some elders" that handled child abuse the wrong way. This comment parrots the society's propensity to blame their mistakes on the publishers.

Congrats WAC. They really feel that any criticism against the org is from the devil. The thing is, why would you want to serve a God who would just ignore all the love you've shown in the past and let you just be stolen from him by his biggest enemy? It doesn't make sense. And while it's sad that there are still so many people who see the logic in that or refuse to let themselves consider the logic, it's wonderful to see people who do come to their senses and make their escape.

some people (elders in this situation) just refuse to see the tree for the forest., they can't or won't begin to think outside of the box. If they heard someone secular spout the crap they do they would see it for what it was but when it comes to see about the crap they espouse, they can't or won't see it. Its like trying to reason with the wall in your bathroom. Can't get err done so to speak.

WAC- Great job guy ! You got the bad guys on the run ! Like Jack Nicholson said to Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men, " You want the truth, you can't handle the truth " ! It is so true with most of these witnesses . If this keeps stirred up like I hope it does, they might just go flipping nuts. Not most of them , but some of them perhaps . Maybe enough to question the " presumed " authority that has held them captive for so long in this mind controlled cult.

As for a reply what some others said was good. Just something simple like, " Well, just thought you might want to know the problem is larger than you knew. Thought you might want to be informed to help the brothers and sisters.
