Good point there JCanon about Russell not having to join the local freemasons. He may or may not have joined a local Pennsylvania Lodge. It doesnt really matter. Did Bill Clinton join a local lodge even though he was a high ranking member of the Grand Lodge of Israel?
One example that I can think of where a celebrity Mason has had dual membership in a local lodge and in the upper echelon is evangelist Billy Graham.
One should take the Billy Graham deception as use it to ascertain the Russell dilemna. The Billy Graham ministry has managed to fool its thousands and thousands of supporters that Billy Graham is a genuine man of God not affiliated with the Demolays, Masons, or shriners, despite the fact that it has been proven that he is a Freemason and writer Jim Shaw, who personally met with Graham at a 33rd degree initiation claims he is 33rd degree. One must ask themself "why would a Freemason lie to the public and deny being a member?" People are asking the wrong questions and the debate keeps going in circles. The debate on this board is endless despite that fact that the evidece of Russell's Freemasonry is increasing.
Look at the similarities in Jehovah's Witnesses who when you confront them with this possibility, act out violently or offensively, much like those who blindly defend Billy Graham when one accuses him of Communist and Masonic connections.
