Well, Data was built to be less perfect than me... (That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. (I'm not winking, my eye is twitching...))
Back on topic: If robots are sophisticated enough to become conscious then I don't have any problem with it. (Not that it's any of my business anyway.)
Personally I have no intention of marrying a human, and animals are annoying, so a robot sounds like a pretty good alternative!
Obviously the JWs would be opposed.
Lore - W.W.S.D?

I don't mind if they legally join, but I don't want them calling it "marriage" -- that's strictly for a man and a woman.
Nor can they call it "civil union" -- that's strictly for a man and man, or a woman and woman.
Perhaps they could go with "civil upgrade"? ;-)
Seriously, I wouldn't mind a bit if people wanted to marry artificial life forms. But you know as soon as she's an 8086, he'll trade her in on two 4043's!
Robot Wife: "Our relationship seems to be faltering, and *I'm* working as designed! So if anyone's changing, it's you!"
