When I went to NYC in January I had tons of fun and didn't go to Bethel once. I spent my time shopping and drinking. And eating Kangaroo at 3 Mile River. My bro is the best tour guide ever!

Why would anybody visit Bethel? I'd rather visit something interesting, like Gino's Pizza or Papaya King. Yum.

Dorktacular, that was one thing that struck me about these tours: a good number of them include "extended" features like Niagara Falls, and some of the best eateries and shows in NYC...almost like the Bethel part of the tour becomes an aside.
Nothing wrong with that, of course...just not exactly what a true-blue JW would want to do: visiting all those "worldly" places, instead of just soaking up the spiritual vibes of the worldwide headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Heck, if you're lucky, you might even get to meet one of the GB.
If I ever make it to see New York, Bethel is LAST on my list. I can see monkeys at the zoo in Birmingham, Alabama.
I had a bunch of relative a couple of years ago take a bus tour with a bunch of dubs to go to Bethel and Walkill. While my wife showed interest in going, I'd rather have my eyes dilated and be forced to stare into the sun than to be stuck on a couple of buses full of dubs. They also went through the DC and Niagara Falls. Bethel was just a side trip.

Could not have said it better. Except for maybe...I'd rather turn myself over to a gastrointerologist for a full exam than go on a Bethel cruise with a bunch of dubs. No matter what, it would be a gagathon.
That site was creepy, kinda like double standards in a color brochure. JW's know how to make the most of an opportunity to make money.

I dont want to bad-mouth the WTS for the sake of it but tell me all one thing seriously. If you had a free day in one of the great cities of the world - New York City - I am sure the vast majority would say New York Bethel is NOT high on the list of priorities. There are so many fun/cool things to do in NYC -why the f--k would you want to tour bethel?
