Yes, it's Mischief Night or Hell Night in our community(Northeast). Tonight's the night the adults get things ready for the big bonfire tomorrow giving the kids a chance to run the neighborhood setting off everybody's home security alarms. There's a neighbor sitting on his front steps dressed up as a scarecrow holding a huge pumpkin. I'll hear the screams when some little bugger runs up there to smash it. It'll probably traumatize him for life. There's no trick or treat in my neighborhood. Everyone wanting to participate gets dressed up and goes to the bonfire and hands out treats there. Smashing pumpkins
and changing street signs around are about as wild as it gets around here. I'm leaving my pumpkins outside. I'm ready for them..

Do as she said..........Hide the cars, stay at home. Or you will face people like myself who at 18 went out with a friend and egged cars. Tied a purse to a string and pulled it back when they stopped the car. hehehehehehehehehe

Interesting! I'm another Nor'easter, and yet I've never heard of Mischief Night, or any other name for this night. Nor have I ever heard of anything happening on this night. Must be a community thing in various places, but not yet universal.
