Gail Bethea-Jackson -- doctor, as claimed by Watchtower?

Re: My thread, letter to NBC about Watchtower's rebuttal

In the above thread, there is some reason to believe (thanks to VM44) that Bethea-Jackson is not, in fact, the doctor as claimed on the official Watchtower Site which airs her video. The video, although old, was put in place as an apparent rebuttal one day following the recent NBC story, which in turn, appears to be a reflection of the recent Barb Anderson DVD (or CD?).

Let me be clear that I am in no way trying to discredit Gail Bethea-Jackson.

I tried to call Bethea-Jackson this morning several times but nobody seems to be in. My cell phone goes in and out of coverage so my rural home is not a good place to call from. I wanted to hear, from her mouth, an answer to three questions:

    1. Approximately when was that video taken?
    2. Is she a doctor?
    3. Has she ever been one of Jehovah's Witnesses?

We need your help if you are a resident near Washington, D.C. If so, please respond here if you are willing to try to contact Gail Bethea-Jackson. (We, and she, certainly don't need a bunch of folks invading her office with some questions. One is all it should take.) If you'd prefer, please send a PM to me and I will post here that someone is attempting a contact. If you, indeed, make contact please report back on this thread or PM me and I will do that.

You may wish to make a telephone call to learn what we'd like to know. There is one number listed below.

The address listed here is 9.2 miles south of Washington, D.C. proper, just below Capital Beltway (i95).

Moments ago I was able to get through to, I suppose, a receptionist.

Me: May I speak to Dr. Jackson please?

She: Gail Jackson or Dr. Jacqueline (spelling?) Jackson ?

    Me: Gail Jackson.

She: She's not in right now.

Me: Um ... Is Gail Jackson a doctor?

She: No -- Gail Jackson is the director here of .... [unintelligible].

    Me: Thank you.

My conclusion: Gail Bethea-Jackson is not a doctor. VM44, you were right.

Watchtower Society -- you again proved what you are made of.

If she directs the work of doctors, she must be a doctor, no?

In the same way that a person who directs a team of jackasses....

I would say she is probably a doctor if she is Director. Is there not a email located anywhere to contact her?

In all fairness to Gail Bethea-Jackson, no where on PathFinder's website is she actually referred to as "Doctor."

Here's a quote that I found to be quite significant:

The focus of The PathFinder Project, Inc., is Afrocentric and Crossroads offers services from a perspective that is designed to meet the unique concerns of the African-American adolescent and their families. Although this perspective is a central feature of the Family Services Component of The PathFinder Project, families from other ethnic, racial and/or national groups are welcome and would find great benefit from Crossroads.

If the video was done in 2002, and if she was speaking from an African-American perspective, then everything she said holds water because incidences of pedophilia among African-Americans is proportionately lower than in other groups. Google it.

Maybe J. R. Brown just seized upon one of her videos to try to support the Society's stance, and Gail Bethea-Jackson knows nothing of it. Her website refers to her as being a Christian, but says nothing about her being a JW.

I can't get rid of the blue, sorry.

Tried to email her foundation but it doesn't seem to work. Very true Snowbird, it's probably just your typical JW spin. Seems to be edited quite a bit too, which makes me wonder where the full interview is.

How hard can it be to get some hard data on this womans credentials? It makes her seem bogus but we need some concrete data...

NO, she is not a Doctor she is a social worker.

Copied from the web site... http://www.pathfinderproject.org/pathfoudinfo.htm Ms. Jackson is a clinical social worker specializing in the area of victimization with an advanced certificate in child and adolescent psychotherapy from the Washington School of Psychiatry. She is currently the Director of a private practice in Maryland specializing in victims of abuse as well as adolescent issues. She is a consultant to Prince George’s County Social Services Sexual Abuse Unit, and was consultant to Prince George's Family Preservation Unit; The Family Connection until its closing in 1999. She was also the organizer of the Maryland Chapter for APSAC, (American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children).
