Sweetface started a thread about the ugliest cities in the US. I just commented that I thought Sault Ste. Marie was ugly on both sides of the border.

To my Canadian/Canadien friends, which cities do you find the least attractive? Another one that I didn't think was very attractive was Hamilton, ON.

    Any takers?

P.S. I think that Canada is cleaner and prettier than the States for the most part!

I agree Of all canadian cities, hamilton is lacking. Toronto is not that attractive, iether. Some of the surrounding areas are very attractive. Fergus, w the old stone structures is amazing.

BTW, I love Niagara Falls and Tobermory, Ontario. Great wreck diving at Tobermory!

Hamilton has got two be in the top 3.

When I was in the Navy I spent some time in Halifax and that place is pretty run down as well. Another place I couldn't stand was Saint John, NB, the weather never goes above about 25 Deg C, with the average being a high of 18 in the summer and its always cold out on the ocean (which is where I was working when I was there). It also smells like dead fish first thing in the morning and there is nothing to do there. Also, the people are way to damn friendly and it pisses me off.

Sudburys' Nickel factory , has caused so much pollution that the trees look like they are suffering from a nuclear fallout on a barren landscape. I know a few witlesses there. I can't even beleive people would live there.. With all the rock I'm not even so sure it would be good for snowmobiling.

Endless miles of nothing on the praries too. I guess toboganning down slopes and downhill skiing are out of the question . The door to door work must be real blast. Oh well at least they have Tim Horton donuts.

As long as the asphalt is nice

Here, in pot hole Capital of Canada I have to slalom between potholes and aim preset 1 when I want preset 2 on my car radio......

Hey......watch what you say about Halifax.

Yes parts of it are bad but even the worst parts are better than some of the bad parts of Montreal. Halifax isn't all that bad and things are really changing there

I'd agree with Sydney and add Glace Bay to that list because things are really starting to fall apart due to the bad economy
