Thursday nights sucked.
Usually had a part on both meetings.
Usually followed by a dirty martini and several beers.
...OUTLAW
The public talk without a doubt, the same old crap rolled over with a new scent, every flipping weekend. Then it would be the TMS, especially when I had a talk with another "sister". GAG, I don't miss that at all, any of them actually!! I so love sleeping in Sunday mornings now, its frikkin BLISS!
Best part of the meetings was the large V&T when I got home!

They were all bad, but I especially hated the book study. It was always arcane crap that I couldn't care less about. Chariot wheels, harlots, oh, my! Plus one place we went, they still had the plastic on the couch (rhymes with "ouch"; when you got up in the summer, half of your thighs were stuck on the plastic. Plus, if you wiggled from boredom, the plastic made horrible noises. Plus, the reader was a dear man who was the worst reader I've ever heard. It was pure torture listening to him try to sound out the words. Plus, the interested old lady who came wearing a see-through negligee she thought was a dress. Oh yes, those were the days.

Didn't hate any of the meetings...when I got old enough, as a "brother", always had a part, some asingment, or task to fullfill...
What I hated more than anything was field service, especialy with my dad and his sidekicks...sometimes though I'd get in a car group with others close to my age like Terry, Harry (the one who liked to dismantle mailboxes), or my cousin Vernon....
Always made that 3-4 hour hole in the day zip on by....Hehheh, couldn't ask for a better door banging partner than Harry...his antics would bring a cemetary to life..course, for a "young brother", best field service was with a mixed group. That's when you spent more time giving the local DQ your business...sadly for me, door to door days like that were few and far between...

The Sales Service Meeting was the one I couldn't wait to leave from. There were always two elders that always went overtime, and that was rough when I used to work nights.
I would always purposely keep my talks very short so that we could maybe get a out a few minutes early. There was always that one elder that made sure he took up that extra time.
TMS! Watching people get counseled publically! Excruciating talks! Teaching people how to lie convincingly and sincerely(!). I liked the Service meeting. It had drama(DFS, reprovals, local needs talks), urgent announcements, comments made without 'lines' fed to them from a piece of literature (think of th tiny piece of paper they had to work with for 4 hours a week! We got to hear funny stories about things that happened in service. The only bad part was missing Happy Days/Laverne and Shirley.
Aye man other people just don't understand why I'm chuckling at some of these responses...
For me it was the Theocratic school and public talks. Then don't forget the 3 day conventions. I only ever enjoyed the "Dramas"
