I was just notified that the Kingdom hall in my area is doing a congregation split. Actually it is a merger of 5 congregations into 4 congregations. The names of 4 of the former congos are:

    Elgin Park
    Hazelmere
    Country Woods
    Semiahmoo

The name of the other congo I don't know. The merger had resulted in the deleting of one of the congos(I don't know which one). There are now 120 members in each congo for a total of 480 brainwashed JWs. This KH is one of the larger in the area. It started out as a single congo and then split to two, four, then five congos. Many JWs have left the org in this area and so that is why they did the merger. This calls for champangne!! ......POP .....glug glug glug..... Here is a toast to Kingdom Crunch! ....CLINK!!! ........

We have just heard the Clinking of glasses, stop this right now - you Pagans!!!

It's happining more often than jw want to admit.

In 1984 the congr. i was going to, split in 2.

    Jan 2007, back to one.

    I wonder what's happening to Jehovah's blessing?

    Its happening all over.

I spoke to a JW friend on the phone yesterday who does not know I am out of the bOrg (he thinks I am just cold), he mentioned that the attendance at his congregation has gone from 140 to 70 in the last year and a half! I have a feeling that perhaps '07 or '08 may be the first negative-growth years in the US branch in a long time.

    Lets hope so.

I have friends in Burnaby, would one of those congo cover that area? I believe they go to a fancy smancy KH, underground parking and elevator, cost big$$$ from what I remember. These people are on the edge, disgruntled with loads of issues.

There was quite a up surge in attendance and growth back in the 70's and 80's thanks impart to the baby boom generation.

From what I'm hearing from my sister who still attends there is a large majority in her hall that are 65 and older and very few 20 and 30 year olds.

Is it because the young people today are little more wiser and are more knowledgeable about religious cults that they are staying away from religion in general..

By the way cultswatter I live in Richmond , nice to have someone from the lower mainland here

In one US midwest circuit, 2 congregations dissolved, another 2 congs merged into 1. That's 3 less congregations in JUST 1 YEAR!

Congregation I currently attend has increased in publishers, because many have transferred in due to problems in surrounding KHs. Our attendance is high, because every single baby is counted.

The area that my family goes has done the opposite. They are going to get 2 new congregations this month alone.
